I cannot believe no ones mentiond V!Z rims! Mine is uber strong and im not the smoothest of riders, but saying that the stregnth of the rim is not only down to the rim, it the wheel build aswell. If you've got a crap wheel build then no matter what rim you get you'll find it'll dent/buckle/flatspot easy, so i would go for something like a V!Z or a try-all and make sure you get a decent wheel build, if you can't do it get a bike shop to do it. Oh and dont go near echo rims, have a look in the search, sooooo many people have rewined them already. Rob

Try leaning back more than you think you can, just push your limits, and when you hit the other side of the gap bring yourself back down so your sitting on the tyre almost. Its about pushing your limits, you can do it you just may be scared about brake spilling ect. Hope ive helped Rob

I find that wheelieing manualing is the basis of most moves in trials, try and teach him to wheelie, and when he's masterd that get his braking/pedaling technique right. Best way to do this is go along the pavement, kiking so that he goes along, and then pulling the brake and bringing the pedals back to a level position, then doing it again. Keep him going and going and then tell him to imcorprate the two, go up like a wheelie, pull the brake, get the pedals back then kick, then pull the brake and bring the pedals back. Its a hard process though, ive tried time and time again and i just havn't got he patience with my little bro Good luck! Rob

About 32t, i ran 32:18 once when my cranks were buggered and i had to result to shimao cranks :$ , i found it easy to boost around on, you could do trials on it but wasnt easy, very good for street and jump though, eg manuals spins bunnyhops ect. Rob

please stop, your pointless posts are making me cry and by far are a waste of space. Dont come up with stupid ones like 'how far can you gap', fair enough a good question but there's no real point to it, people cant expand on it, all they can say is the legnth they can do then thats it. Try something a bit more better, 'how can i improve my gapping?' for example, and instead of just repeating the topic title explain that you can only gap so far and you was wondering what other ways people have found helps improve? Please think before you post, its not getting you anywhere and you'll be complaining soon that you can't be validated, (although i wouldnt be surprised if you've made a topic on that already) Please take note of this Rob And i got into trials through seeing it on TV, i was already into dirt jumping and watchin Drop in TV, i caught a bit of trials on there and was inspired, addapted my bike to do a bit of trials and just worked on from there.
