Not really I wouldn't have thought. Have a look at sj's and vitaras, or maybe a jimny? Although they come with a whole 'hairdressers cars' label, they are awesome offroad, with a real good power:weight ratio. I can get around 35mpg, at a push, but I average around 30.

I would have thought 25mpg if you've got the diesel. No 4x4's have good fuel economy, fact.

Threadless bottom brackets are shit. They end up just spinning cos you can never get them tight enough, or come loose. There's a bike shop in bristol who mill out the bb threads and insert a sleeve instead, but I can't remember the name of the shop. Might be worth researching into that.

I can bet that the footwell will be full of water, it's going to find its way through anyway, door seal, holes in the floor for drainage, through the boot, through the bulkhead etc etc. I wouldn't have thought that would have any interior anyway.
