    'happy Slapping'

Hehe, i'd remove this thread, but i know allot of people don't go into NMC (myself included) so i'll leave it up. Cheers for the link.
  4. I don't know if anyone else watched this. Basically it's a 'craze' sweeping the UK where you just walk upto someone randomly in the street, assault them, then walk off again, while videoing the whole thing. :) The stuff they do is just plain messed up. Like Knocking people out with bats, punching them to the floor then kicking them in the head (breaking their noses, eye sockets etc), setting fire to people (one guy almost died), Kicking women to the floor, slapping people on busses (bursting their eardrums etc), Punching middle aged guys off their bikes... They interviewed a few of the kids who do it on the documentary (un-surprisingly enough they were all super-chavs) and they were just laughing about it, like 'yeah, it's dead funny, not me getting hurt'. There have been over a thousand attacks in the last 6 months :) I know assault is nothing new, but the whole concept of doing it for fun and to upstage others is kinda screwed up. You can see the kind of stuff these cowards do: one two Apparently the craze hasn't caught on in the USA because in cities where bored teens might carry out the attacks the number of people carrying weapons and guns means they'd more than likely be killed for randomly slapping people, making it not worth the risk, unlike in the UK where the public generally are un-armed. I saw this on another forum a month or so back but didn't think about it untill i flicked onto that programme tonight. Man, I hope these pathetic tools just pick on the wrong guy one day... (N)
  5. How do you ever remove the songs from your ipod then? Manually removing them off the playist? I can't believe i don't know this, i've had an ipod for years, it's once of those things you just 'do' without thinking about. I'd check now, but my ipod is f**ked (N)
  6. Yeah I'm pretty sure it deletes it. Download ipodrip http://www.thelittleappfactory.com/software/ipodripwin.php and rip the musc you want off the ipod first, then put that into your itunes playlist and sync it.
  7. http://www.spreadfirefox.com/ hehe (N) The firefox 'find' function is great, and so is mouse gestures.
  8. Firefox will only render your pages, if your on a decent connection already your not going to see anything noticeable on forums etc. Something is wrong there :) That just shouldn't happen, i've never heard of that either... You on an older version of java? Yeah I don't like foxytunes, but I sure as hell don't like media player :S Takes ages to load up on my computer for some reason.
  9. Yeah I'm like that on those mazes, the route just seems logical, if i look a few turns ahead i aways see which way leads forwards. The study of mazes / how peoples mind work is pretty interesting.
  10. I have the adobe suite, upgrade is only £150.
  11. Looks nice Jon (Y) I downloaded CS2 today to try it out, I think i'll buy it this week, i'm still using my photoshop 7... hmm.
  12. wow, the difference is nothing short of amazing... even trials forum pages load about 2x as fast :( I'm currently on my super-low-spec computer, so that may be why :)
  13. It sounds like you have 2 inputs fighting against each other. Like i have a graphics tablet and sometimes if i leave the pen on the edge of the tablet it acts like the mouse is in the top left, yet i'm moving my actual mouse down, so the net effect is it makes the page judder up and down really quickly. Do you have another inputs apart from your mouse connected?
  14. Now you just have to make it pass every test on the webXACT accessibility tests and i'll be really impressed :)
  15. haha yeha, I just looked down at mine and was like 'oh it's wrong, it says it's raining'... then looked outside and realised it'd actually been raining the last 10 minuites :(
  16. So Is mine, but when i wakeup before collage I know if i need to take my coat or not. Also uber-usefull for planning if i'm going out tomorow etc :) If I didn't have it i'm not organised enough to watch the weather or check websites daily to see the weater forcast. Once again it's just one of those little convenience things.
  17. Oh, i forgot to mention, one THE BEST plugins in the weather one. It's so convenient, I never used to check the weater, now it's just always there in the bottom corner. It's really acurate too. It actually changes when it's raining / sunny etc in real time, and the days ahead forcast is usually spot on :(
  18. Ahh, fair enough! To be honest it's been quite a few months since I used IE and i've forgotten how half the stuff worked anyway! :(
  19. Yeah It imports everything from IE if you want it to, your cookies, bookmarks and history. They're both pretty similar, just when you go to order you bookmarks it's in a nice big fullscreen window, and you can drag them around, put them in folder, name them etc (like your viewing them as files in windows) rather than using that anoying little organise favourites window in IE, and the history is quite similar, just with a few nice touches like your last few pages are listed in a drop down menu on the top bar, and you can change the view, search history etc...
  20. Yeah i forgot to mention that. I hardly see any adverts anywhere now, and the download manager is much, much better, It groups and files all my downloads, giving me an overall % to whats done etc. Not a big deal if you don't download much. In the end firefox just has 'neater' features, it seems more refined that IE. If you use IE it's not the end of the world!
  21. No it really IS faster, not so much on things like forums, but if you go on sites where there are long rows of images, or some heavier features firefox is noticably faster, also scrolls much smoother too. Yeah you could argue that, but firefox does have a good security system and no security holes like IE does. popups are dead on most browsers really. This is one of those things you don't realise how truely usefull and clever it is untill you start using it. It really is SO usefull. They realease new versions etc all the time, it's usefull... nothing more. There are new ones all the time, they're neat... kinda cool I guess. I'd use firefox JUST for the tabbed browsing, add in the other neat features such as better bookmark system, better history system, faster page rendering, less crashes, better security etc and it just seems silly to stick with IE On the surface they LOOK very similar, but the functionality of them is fairly different. Firefox is only 4.5 meg with a super-fast installer :( EDIT: sorry adam, i saw your post so throught I'd re-type mine to answer your post :)
  22. it's new-ish :- Depending on if you had the (old) v3 skin on before.
  23. Techincally it is Safari that doesn't work with TF, It's got a second rate render engine... (Y)
