  1. Thanks guys! ... looks like the BT will be the go. So bb rise has effect of making it feel shorter.. in that case as the BT has 50mm rise (i thinks!) then it might be just the ticket for him. Any preferences for bar stem setup that as "Bigman" put it... compensates for bb rise?? Without making it feel too long. Cheers all (Y)
  2. Hey Xavier... wouldnt a Ed Tongue Ashton have been nice (Y) hehe... sorry dude i had to say it danny.
  3. Posting this on behalf of a friend without net ... He wants a bike no bigger then a 1060/65 wb and something that will ride nicely on natural. Please post your opinions so i can pass them on. Especially if you have ridden both or one of them and have a valid comment to make on it. Thanks. BT RAVEN or ZOO PITBULL ?? cheers danny.
  4. Where bouts is this Cassette vid... ? Would really love to see it. Big Fan of ET :ermm: thx! - and on the matter of the video... patience people. Even ages ago now when Akkers wuz out ere stayin at mine he mentioned how hard it wuz for himself, Hawyes and ET to actaully get together at the one time. With the footage and put it all together in a way that they would all be happy with. As Wayne said... its definately happening and im sure he will let us all know its progress! Me personally, having seen Akkers rideing in the flesh WOW... im definately hangin out for it!! People who dont appreciate his talents or just plain bum all the uci long bike stylee (which is great in its own way - dont get me wrong!) are missing out on IMO a modern day legend - who's all or nothing attitude will always earn my respect. anyhoo nuff said... Bring on the VIDEO!!!! :P" ooo yeah!
  5. after riding stock for about 4-5 years solid... on mavic d521s (now called something else - check mavic site) they are by far more then strong enough for trials and great value. lightish too. REally really great rims. Get yourself some and youll be laughin! mavic d521 nuff said!
  6. Yeah i definately agree with Janson! them multi tools are not worth the benefit of fitting in your pocket. A bag is the way :( just like a back pack.. for drinks tools etc and then u can just take it off when riding at your desired location. Knowing that youll have tools, food, drinks, deodorant! :ermm:" ooo weeee! etc. As for tools - Park Tools are the go as youll see in any top lbs. Just consider the parts of your bike your most likely to have to adjust/fix/temper with and then from that you should be able to work out what tools are most useful/urgent. A good set of allen keys A pump obviously and patches 15mm spanner should get you off to a good start :)
  7. got 2 movies on tonight.... bourne identity and bourne supremacy. Aint watched either - no im not going to go watch em! - just wondering which one people think is better.... ?? (this is general chit chat right?) :( cant stop thinkin about "Matt Damon" from Team America... its really takin the piss outta him.. ROFL! so whats ppls favourite? and i guess favourite non trials movie?? mine - Ron burgundy or Freddy got fingered... and of course BOONDOCK SAINTS!!! (thats some crazy sh*T!)
  8. sounds sweet.... any pics or links??? stil luv my 24 though :( check pics in bikepics... "streetjibs"
  9. this really seems to be a opening in the market... maybe bigger companys could look at 24 inch trials frames (cheap ones!) Anyways i know there is this one.. but i think its proto only at the moment. Called inspired or something similar. Maybe try and get an ashton (2nd hand is probably the best bet)
  10. thanks dude :) yeah even the free stem i found in a bin at back of lbs seems to be quite nice on it!! danny.
  11. same as before but now shorter and bit nicer hope yall like it 2

    Felix?

Just seen a very sweet video of a guy called "Felix" in Gubbersach or something (SP?) riding a btraven 6 in blue. Does anyone know who he is and a email or something for him... Im interested in knowing about his bike setup if its possible to contact him?? thanks danny.
  13. this all sucks soo much... but it is true its part of the world we are livin in nowadays. this doesnt mean its ok or that we should get used to it. I personally think its very sad and disappointing, really seems like mankind is set to whipe itself out.
  14. Wayne - Hahahaha! cant wait too c that footage... U saved us that night too. By stoppin at roadside motel. I was a mess! Couldnt tell where the whitelines on the road was. YEAH we gotta just fly next year. Hey If poss can u send me some clips of that footage. Also i dont have any video of u ridin when u wuz out ere. Im bk up coast til friday (4days from now) then wil b at rents place for bout a week... so catch you on msn then hopefully. Cheers bro danny (Y)
  15. WOW!! thank you all... my confidence in myself to keep riding is reinstated. Looks like il keep on dabbin for another few years yet. cheers all :-
  16. the justice will be lighter and also the geometry will make it easier for you to get the front wheel up. I rode one for a year and found it very easy to pop front end up for manuals or bunnyhops etc. Youll find it heaps easier. Also getting the bars high makes it easier to. So maybe try a stem spacer or higher rise stem on the cuda. Just a thought. Lucky u gettin a ashton! hope that helps
  17. haha! yeah marts rule though!! cheers for the support :- Is there an old timers home for trials riders? gettin down about almost being 30 (thisll make me sound old... but..) It seems like only the other day i was drinkin underage and sneaking into clubs... :"> oh well ... lets see how old heatsink and others are!??!?
  18. Just wondering what age everyone thinks is too old to be riding trials?? Im 27 turning 28 next month... Just starting to ask myself how much longer i can keep it up (no pun intended!)

    my new ride

Another 24 et setup... dont think theres anything ground breaking here. But its really nice to ride and perfect for bustin out some street jibs n manuals... Really nice bike for mixin it all up . very happy with it. hope yall like the pics *now got ashton forks on it IMO nicer ride - im biased against curved out forks*
  20. this will spiral into the biggest post ever... :S" (IMO) It doesnt really make that much difference as far as helping with moves. Eventually you will get used to whatever u ride. I think that its whatever suits you, such as if you prefer the feel of a long bike then good. For me personally i love a nice short bike. Also keep this in mind... The now well known Neil Tunnicliffe used to ride a brisa (short!) and a pashley before that (also short) and yes he did go big on them too. So the argument that some people think big moves are only possible on long bikes is bollox. I agree that it might help with them... Thats as much as im willing to say... I know this is going to be a long topic with lots of conflicting posts. My advice... go out ride some peoples bikes and find what suits you best :- :P
  21. Vee brake on the front for sure :- works good enough.. in some cases can work better then a magura. also theres the extra little benefit of being able to quickly unhook the cable to take front wheel out for transporting the bike or whatever low maintenance, cheap and works well. hope it helps
