  5. hey guys ... finished buildin her up today. Had a few dramas along the way nothign out of the ordinary except 1... the posts on the heatsink adaptors were too wide for the ultimate calipers! Has this happend to anyone else?? But easy fix thanks to Tim @ Expressive Bikes pointing out the post is changeable so took some off an old fork and all good Then, couldnt get the cranks on... took almost an hour to get one of em on... was as if the spindle wastoo thick or the arms were cut with too tight tolerences. anyways got em on in the end. Will post some pics up once iv had some dinner.... bout an hour or so. i gotta say it looks mint imo and a decent weight or lack of! wil edit with pics...

  14. this isnt a new problem by anymeans... about 5-6 years ago maybe more now plazmatic had magura pads with blue aluminium backings (the first ones ever) and red brake material (some of u may remember). Well these were quickly discontinued (although i have a unused set sitting in my lil box of gooodies) because there is slight movement in all magura pads between the square outline of the pad backing and the four prongs that hold them in place. The force at which the weel rotates then suddenly has to stop is enought that the stronger material in aluminium was causing the prongs to just snap off- due to that small amount of moovement in the pad - did i explain that alright? Its a real pain in the arse and im sorry to hear its stil happening... hope u get it sorted and imo stick to plastic backings. It may not have happend to many people... but imo if it happens once thats bad enough - it means it does and can happen. not sure how that helps you... but atleast ul know its nothing spectacularly new. good luck
  15. iv pm'd ali c... bout 4 days ago... no reply I really wanna try his pads out.. can some1 ask him to pm me or summat?? thx
  16. ok i really wana try some joypads now ... where from?
  17. Does Ali C sell his joypads?? Also i didnt think the adaptors for magura pads for v brakes would be that safe?? do htey really work well.....
  18. Been using Jagwire std pads for ages and loving how well they hold, bite and modulate but due to more grinding on rear rim the wear rate is getting to be a bit silly. pads now lasting roughly 4-6 wks!! Im after a dece v pad thats quiet!! works well on a grind without pulling a disappearing act in less then two months... noticed ALI C has some quietish pads (winter vid) and just wondering what they are??? or what people find work best... Vees 4tw thx
  19. thanks guys! as the bars cost more then double most trials specific bars just wanted some opinions of em. il try em out.. thx
  20. ANYONE???? i just wanna know for natty do most people feel trials specific bars are better,...
  21. hey guys ... gettin parts sorted for my new frame (koxx) lookin at either std stem (have both hope and thomson in shed) and buyin the EASTON CNT DH bar (225gms!!) but not sure bout how shape will suit trials. I ride mostly natty and usually run my bars angled back a fair bit with levers close to horizontal. OR>.. Going for a setup with a o/s stem and the new tryall rage bar?? opinions??? just a quicky.. any advice suggestions wud b great! tryin to save weight yet stil have a rideable bike;)
  22. imo depends on whether or not you have the steel driveshell.... When i had a standard alu one on my king and used just a standard cog it dug in and left indents on the grooves. Then bout 5 or 6 years ago my king got the steel driveshell and im stil using a standard size cog with no indents watsoever. If you just have the alu .... then either use a king cog or one of the other wider based ones. Or imo get a steel driveshell
  23. Thanks guys for the posts.. yep i luv it too! feels spot on after bout 18months on the ET 24inch... very similar feel. Will be going a 100 or 110 stem before too long and a nice grind on the rear (didnt wanna do it before fotos!) cud do with a booster... but will wait til i find a suitable one. I absolutely love riding this bike and really like how it turned out. thanks for the great comments! danny.....
