pads were like rocks lol very different in size shape and performance to what we have today. they were soo hard i can remember them lasting longer than the rolling stones! came out years before the monty ones... i think mid or early 90s
-
cleaning through the store room today iv gradually filled with snapped parts and other old bits iv held onto found my old Hebo Gloves:O what were we thinkin back then and then i found this.. VANGUARD brake pads - the first company to make aftermarket pads for maguras. Unopened. thought id post this memorabilia up for amusement:) enjoy

its wat i was told... sorry i didnt realise posting information to help people would result in such annoying little nit picking time wasting posts. coust pads are good.. get em. nuff said. yo jake. guess iv just been lucky then

oh FFS!!! take you meds iv ridden trials for just over 10years now and EVERYTIME iv put a booster on (as long as pads are set up properly!) it has made the brake silent.. due to cuttin out the vibration that causes noise... simple science! so unless iv been very very luck for all this time...
-
lol u knobjocky! its called talking to people!! hey mate.. how long have u had them pads for?? ...
-
will depend alot on what rim u got... eg koxx soft metal, echo harder etc for koxx i find that Coustsinks work best, ridiculous amounts of grab. The pads last long time too... have heard of 16months of solid ridin with only 30% worn if that much! With a booster will be dead silent and they work on light grinds (which is best) which means you rims last longer too cuz your not hackin into them soo much. A great compound and with the heatsink backing a great feeling brake. My setup koxx rim - very light almost dead grind xtr lever, odysey linear slick cable, ultimate calipers coustsink vees... brilliant performance, cant fault them, oh and work well in wet too (Y)

YES THEY ARE!! oh my god, i think kenny wud be quite amused they have decided to put that bbyoke back on a bike! The original karbons that kenny was going through like MJ goes through faces had that BByoke on it and thats exactly where they snapped! Hence, why the karbons now dont have the holes through them like the new coust has. IMO, id be watchin this frame with caution. just something to consider.. on the plus side, horizontal dropouts i have thought for years would be good on 26 and its nice to see some coming out, the new mbk and the coust, hydroxx etc. I think it makes it look cleaner, no hanger to break, saves weight aswell (bout 250-300gms all up! - no hanger no derailleur, less chain is needed too!) however with those dropouts, the bb rise is bit too high imo and personally i think the paintjob looks like a wiggles toy .... not my cup o tea

it does ride a bit nicer i feel with the carbon toptube. Its not just that though, its the whole overall finish and presentation of the bike. Cnc'd bits in just the right place, making it incredibly stiff in the rear end and yet superlight and almost "flicky" sort of feeling cuz they build up so light. Mine is currently 9.8kgs (measured on electronic scale). This bike feels right, its hard to explain but it just does wat you want to do with very few surprises if any. I actually find that i feel more stable on natural and hence it pushes you boundaries as my confidence increases. An absolute beautiful bike, only downside is everyone wants to ride it! anyways im not goin to prattle on as if its a full on bike review. But if you can get one, then get one. oh and the wb is 1085 not 1075 as it says on koxx.fr hope that helps...
