  1. four bolt mounts front and rear
  2. hi all I havent posted on here for a couple of years but this week I got a onza, I have fitted my magura rim brakes I have also fitted the boosters but I would like to change to the 4 bolt mount so my questions are 1) do you have to different booster for these type of mounts 2) is there any 4 bolt mounts that are worth getting over others, I dont want to spend to much as il need some for the front and rear if links could be posted up that would be a great help. thanks mikey
  3. thanks for the help forgot to say this is going on a jump bike for everyday use ill probley go for the avid as there seems to be alot of problems with the hopes thanks for you help mikey
  4. hi can anyone on here help me i need a new front brake but cant decide between the juicy 7 or mono m4 had a look at both of them today but cant decide wich one. if any one on here has any exprience of them or have brakes of the same manufacture could you please give us your opinion. many thanks mikey
  5. hi again yet another problem my bike is currenty a single speed but as i need to use it for getting about on i am fitting gears the rear hub is a 9sp compatibile so i fitted a 9sp cassete. The crank is truvative hussefelt single ring the problem is the chain line with the chain on the largest rear sprocket it at quite a sharp angle the bottom bracket shell is 68mm it currently has fitted a giga pipe sl 73mm/68mm shell size bb it has the spacer fitted so it can be used with the 68mm shell and the axel length is 118mm and the crank sits to far out. If i was to get a 68mm shell only bb with a axel length of 118mm would this bring the chain line in abit as there would not be any spacers? or would i need a 113mm axel length bb to make the chain line straighter? The main question is how do you work out what axel length you need is there a formula to work this out does any one know of one? again any help will be apprecaited many thanks mike
  6. changed the bearings round today and the steering is now alot better nice and free and no play thanks for the help.
  7. thanks i have done some more research in to the asembly of headsets and it looks like that the bearings are in round the wrong way latter on today i will give it ago changing them around and will also see if i can get some replacement bearings.
  8. hi everyone i hope someone can help me i had my bike in the work stand and the steering felt a bit notchey so i took the forks off to grease the bearings but things hapend and i got destraced and forgot what way round the ball retainers go on iv put the forks on and adjusted them just to the point so there is virtualy no play in the bearings but it is tight but still free to move at the same time when i took it apart there was no grease in the bearings. without the grease the handle bars moved freely side to side with a little push but with the grease it stays in the position you put the bars in is it just a case of the bearings with the new grease needing abit of time to free up or could one or both of the retainers be round the wrong way? at the moment the bottom retainer is open side down (facing the cone shaped race) and the top one is facing up (open side to the cone shaped race) is this correct? and with all the play removed how free should the steering be? if i adjust it so the steering is free to turn there is to much play in the bearings. any help on the problem will be apprecaited thanks alot mike
