Yeah I know, it did it over here as well. If it's gonna snow, it might as well do it properly. At least you get to go riding. :)

Is Trials Biking The Most Expensive Sport
ManxTrialSpaz replied to abe's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
It's not that expensive, after all, you are buying high performance bike with high performance parts and as well as having to perofrm well, they need to endure mounting stress, every drop wil weaken the majority of your parts at a time. It will be expensive over four years but just aobut everything will be if you count the money you've spent, it's just you notcie your shiny new blue bike parts a bit more than your shiny new chinese take-away. -
We've seen how could good you can be in boasting threads, videos and pictures and we've heard and sometimes seen how bad your worst is but what about your down right stupidest? I'm a bit of a sketchy rider and I was attempting to pedal hop up a wall which was above mod wheel height (Hey! It's big for me, well, it was then.) and I'm not sure what happened but I ended up half on half off the wall with the bike on top of me and one of my legs in between the top tube and downtube. It wouldn't have been to bad if I hadn't have been there ages before hand pathetically attempting to get up it but no, I just had to top it off by falling over and getting stuck in my bike! (Y)

What Has Been Your Worst Fall Ever?
ManxTrialSpaz replied to EwaNzz's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Haven't really had a bad crash yet, the noly one I think of was just being silly, (I'm a bit of a sketchy rider) I was attempting to pedal hop up a wall and I'm not sure what happened but I ended up half on half off the wall with the bike on top of me and one of my legs in between the top tube and downtube. (Y) -
It could be your freewheel--If it moves side-to-side it is. Have have checked the chain and looked at your freewheel and the other (cog thingymajig which isn't your freewheel) for kinks on the teeth?
-
It's a stalemate really--Python, best looking bike of the two, looks sturdier, looks to have the highest BB rise but it's long and should only be used by more experienced riders due to the lack of a bashplate and any mounts. The echo, shorter but the one fact that balances it all out is the bashplate! With it you won't **** your downtube up as much, your bb won't get ****ed over, and you don't have to fall off wall when you don't get high enough and crash down on your bashplate. Hard choice but I'd choose the Echo so I could keep my frame longer :(

Bit harsh isn't it? It's not his fault if he can't even take his bike to parties without some idiot throwing it in a pond. Unlucky mate. Find out who did it and visit their house(s) with a can of paint thinner. (Y)

How Did You Find Out About Cycle Trials?
ManxTrialSpaz replied to ManxTrialSpaz's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
(Y) :D I ment it lightly. -
Yeah, go for the T-Pro, good bike for the money and it does what it tells you, well for me it does. The only con is it has some minorly heavy parts.
-
i've ridden 26" wheels for the past *counts on fingers (Y) * three years but the first trials bike I got was a 20". Mainly because I'm a slow learner but also because stock bikes within my price range look naff imo, just don't like the look of them. Aren't mod bikes flickier as well? Or is that just short bikes in general?
-
Well it seems my 'bomefire' night was bollocks, just abit of back garden riding improving my pedal hops. Strange how you can improve ypur technique on your own without thinking about it (Y)
-
Lol, I just think they look silly but I bow down to any one that can ride one let alone do any trials on one! Except for circus people, they're just freaky.
-
I'm bored, taking a break from practicing my pedal hops in my back garden because I'm not aloud to ride my bike in a fully lit street outside my house because it's too dark (Y) :$ :D Anyway, so how did you find out about cycle trials and why did you decide to start? I found out about cycle trials when manxrider introduced it to me, just looked silly in my ex-opinion,(I even thought the frames looked the same for god's sake!) but he got a trials bike and it started to look less silly. I started basically because manxrider was riding and I just wanted to go out with him doing the same things so I didn't look too much like a twat riding around in circles on my mountain bike. I s'pose I also started because it seemed like it might be a pussy magnet but the girls are i all like....and?(And that's to manxrider's compared-to-me immense riding!) Even the chavs seem more WOWOWOW! about it?!? Ultimately it was a £420 gamble but it payed off...cycle trials is the best thing since sliced bread!

What's the editing like? If there are lots of short clips you'll want something fast but if it's full of long clips or has slow mo in you'll want something slow or something with a quiet beat. As for the actuall song, I'm useless at that unless there's something in my 3 album song collection (Y).
-
I think the wobbly pads are just to do with crap clips. For some reason my front pads rub on the rim in the wet...oh well. I think true/untrue wheels are just whether they're straight or not, so if you've hit it hard and it's buckled it's untrue.

The complete bike will be £845

Travis Pastrana = The Man. Do you think I'm in the wrong sport....one of the few names I know........

Some better brake pads would improve your braking performance and they squeak! ?The Plazmatic CRMs are supposed to be good but they're £18. A brake booster would also improve your brake performance as well but yet againg they are a costly solution with the Echo Team brake booster (Best one out there-ish) being £32.

Start trials and if you do, hopefully you won't regret it! If you put 100% into it'll keep you entertained for at least a year. It's a good muscle builder as well and requires skill. Lots of skill. You could be practising one skill for weeks so it's guaranteed that it'll keep you going for a while. Also, try and find someone to ride with because you might get bored on your own (And you don't have to go far to boast about what you've done :)) and you learn quicker (sharing techniques etc).

They are the hardest of the lot (Well, in the Koxx colour scheme - Yellow, Red, Blue etc)

Meh, I think my 125 motocrosser is alot more fun than one of those. Hell, even my brother's 250 montessa. (Y) Seriously though, don't know why anyone would want one, too much hassle, no point taking it off-road (unless you happen to live next to a decent spot) for that price you might as well get a second hand moto trials bike.(No, really, look carefully and you'll find a bargain somewhere, I got my motocrosser for £1000). You'll probably be nicked riding it in ped areas and it would be annoying if you ran out of petrol. I can see it being about as useful as a mini-moto really. But I do like the way it's been put together with cycle bike parts (Y)

(Y) Now, THAT is some seriously heavy riding :( Dropped down bikestyle today, should have it back around 5 tomorrow.
-
Yeh, it's defiantly the freewheel, today it's started locking when i'm rolling, scared the **** out of me when it did lock and the pedals moved forwards! Also it moves side-to-side like a b*tch. I'll drop it down bikestyle some time, it's olny ten minutes away after all.
