  1. Its for the company I work for..Theyre mainly a laser and fabricator but weve got an onsite paintshop too so we can manage our quality etc. However this year theyve decided to try and turn the paintshop into its own little profitable entity but they dont make enough from the in-house work to cover its own costs.. Even though the company as a whole turns over a little over a £million each year. The website is IMO poor regarding the paintshop. Theres not even a sign or anything on the front of the building etc.. I'm just trying to get a few ideas together to help things along a little. Also, I dont wanna be in breach of any forum rules so if this gets a little to close to advertising then close the thread. Its not yet really my place to be promoting the firm but it is my livelyhood at the minute so I feel inclined to help a bit if I can.
  2. Im thinking more along the lines of civillian customers rather than professional at the minute...
  3. Would I be correct to think that if you where looking for a local firm to have some sort of paintwork done, the big thing on the website you'd look for is a comprehensive gallery of previous work?
  4. Just a quick hi-jack here. On windows 7, how do I control what programmes start up when the computer is turned on? Is there a funky ::/@/:://: type command thing I can enter at some point? Theres some rubbish related to phones/updaters/ask b*llsh*t that I want to stop.
  5. The dash looks pretty cracked up too. Strip it and hoon it around??
  6. You should probably be aware that that very one is on ebay as we speak and has bids on it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-944-1985-/221201045447?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item33809c17c7
  7. The car is irrelevant at this stage. I can use any engine at this point. Looked at K20's, too expensive. KR/ABFs etc to bland..Cheap though. BMW blocks are too heavy. Saab of Volvo engine maybe? Tempted by a rotary due to compact size and weight. Also suitability for RWD gearbox.
  8. I need ideas for engine choices. Not bigger than 4 cylinder to suit a RWD gearbox..Preferably carb'd too. Also..Are the wankel rotary engines really as bad as people say..In terms of fuel and regular rebuilds?
  9. I always thought all tread had to be under the 'arch'.
  10. That could be a simple bad earth or broken wire somewhere..
  11. 10 years for me. I'll go when something starts to drop out..
  12. Your abilities never cease to amaze me..
  13. Is there a ruling on tubing too? I wanted to use 38 - 40mm OD in a 2mm wall. Mostly because I can keep it reasonably discreet but it feels a little on the small side to hold.. Maybe I could mix it and use larger tubing for the more critical sections?
  14. Looking at the B pillars on j-rods picture..Theres a reasonable gap between the cage tube and the pillar. Id rather it be flush the whole way down see. I was just curious as to why most cages are built to sit within the shell rather than against it or as part of it..
  15. Noo..Thats just bridging the gap with plating. I want to run the tubing flush to the inner skin. Form the tube to match the contours and weld it directly to the shell...
  16. I want to flush it to the shell..so the tubing sits against the pillars and is stitched to the shell where possible rather than having the tubing standing away from the shell like most cages..If that makes sense..
  17. Aside from FIA stuff are there any general does and donts when it comes to cages? FIA isnt a major concern as I'll never be using it for anything official..
  18. Is said 'launch control' attached to a family hatchback?
  19. Come back when you have one too maybe..
  20. Naa man. That last one was uncool. Very uncool.
  21. What happened to you man..You used to be cool.
  22. I work 2pk everyday :wink2: If you supply paint, prep and labour will be foc. I'm basically trying to boost my portfolio of personal work outside the company so I can build a personal reputation. I eventually intend on setting up at home and working my own way. Not specifically cars though. At the minute I paint huge massive machines and such like for the heavy engineering sector.
  23. Dont suppose anyone else wants to throw anything my way for painting? It'll be free/cost of postage only, wet or powder.
  24. Have you got/Will you get the paint? Or do you want me to source it?
  25. Lift the sender unit out the top of the tank and see if the filter at the bottom of the pick up pipe is clear. Its like a small plastic tube about an inch long with thiny perforations in it. Mine used to crud up with rust and grit blocking the flow.
