i think you should strip them with dremel/nitromors, and then polish them. i did that but i think i sold that magura set on i might do it to ma current ones soon or black is good also aslong as it dont chip off

did you use all of the thread to put the cog on? i.e. you didnt have a big fat bashguard on the cranks before the cog? ta

depends what hub you run really. if you have a profile or '06 echo hub, then you wont have problems with the chain coming loose as you can beast the bolts proper tight. but if you have the regular mod rear hub with diddy bolts(6mm), then you will need to have a good tensioner as the tensioner will stop the wheel moving around. tensioners on a profile wheel = they are used for initial setup more than anything. tensioners on a normal wheel(6mm bolts) = they hold the wheel inplace when the wheel has been clamped. thats my take on it anyway
