tried changing the cable? can help alot if its an old mankey one!

setting them up 'tighter' isnt going to make them more powerful. if the lever feel is very hard, then i'd suggest that you change the cable, see how it is, and then look at a way of changing the leverage ratio. it'd be a good idea to clean them up and make sure they arent contaminated also!

yeah i had a 1.8 d 205 pug and it was ace. it was a real challenge to get the fuel gauge to move haha. light cars are the way forward, theyre soo much better than a modern heavy car with all these gadgets and crap weighing them down! 1.8 d - 1.5 d pug or citreon from 1985 - 1998 ! they're soo good oh and pash, 100mpg, thats overexaggerating a bit thats like putting 5 quid in and getting 100 miles. so you were getting 1000 miles to a tank? pah
