i would just go with the position that gives the straightest chainline, because if you put it by the spokes, your chainline will be gash and the chian will probarbly wear unevely and may snap (N) ta

hmmm, wonder what the boiling point of brake pads are? :S" i wouldnt reccomend putting them in boiling water as then they would still be around the same oil which does into the water from the pads :D (pointless?) i would bake them, take the top surface of pad material off with a file or sand paper, then bake them again :S ta

if you heat treat it and the weld is good, then there is no reason why it would be any weaker than when new....maybe stronger if it has a gusset? ive heard that alu gets stronger after u weld it with time, it reacts with the air or something :blink:" ta

i have tried someone elses luise fr 2005 which was sooo bitey it was unbeliveble! so i got one second hand and it aint as good :blink: but im getting a new rotor soon and am fitting new pads so hopefully that'll sort it :lol: ta Will
