    How?

Hi, As Im new to trials (Well 6 year absence and I wasnt very good last time anyway!) I was wondering this as well. The things people have said make sense, practise, practise and depth perception / coordination. I cant wait to start practising! ~Gaz
  6. Poor guy, that is real nasty, eugh! I wonder how long it was until he attempted that again! ~Gaz
  7. Hi guys! Its the pleasure / pain thing isnt it.... Shiny new Leeson coming next week and I go and break my wrist... Well Im off to see the doc tommorow but from what I have dug up on google (after it hurting for a week) its a near cert I have a broken Scaphoid bone (an ass to heal by all acount - not painful just takes AGES) What a bummer! I did it on holiday in Greece last week, was "surfing" on the waves but in really shallow water and landed on my wrist - how blonde :"> Im going to ride it if it has to be one handed with my wrist in a cast.... no trials for an age though (Y) Fingers crossed for me everyone that it might just be a simple sprain and Im overreacting (Y) ! Ill let you know how I get on tommorow! ~Gareth

    Bmx Pic's

Cool pics - still not tempted to get a bmx though! The guy in the third pic is at the height of fashion  ~Gaz
  9. Hi! Interesting thread , I agree with most of the points you raised :D My (hopefully, seeing as it is being made as we speak) frame geometry is: Headtube: 74 (or whatever is standard on a Leeson) 20mm BB rise (24inch bike though) 1020mm wheelbase 380mm chainstays I prefer fairly short bikes myself even though Im quite tall - my old cannondale used to be really short - not sure on the numbers but it was tiny, and my Santa Cruz (although not used for trials) had a short top tube (but not wheelbase I wouldnt have thought with the long forks) ~Gaz
  10. Another lovely Leeson (what else would expect though!) - and very unique! Im loving that colour! I wonder if you can get "normal" Leesons in that colour too? Ill have to get Mr Leeson to explain how the bump thing works when I go down to pick my bike up - I cant follow it at the moment! On a side note, my fluid is in the jig at the moment waiting to be welded and then its off to the painters, so hopefully in less than two weeks I should have it!! B) :P ~Gaz
  11. Excellent - I just ordered a couple of pairs of the half price heatsinks too- crazy good value for money (if they work well B) ) Thanks, ~Gareth
  12. Yeah, are they a fairly standard size? Im guessing I could probably get up 2-3 when I get my trials bike! (I could sidehop a foot or so on my DH bike :"> ) ~GAZ

    Endofreak

    (Y) LOL, thats an awesome little crash - send it to Youve been framed or something and get some £££! ~Gaz
  14. :P Awww poor you! That really, really sucks... I HATE people like the guy that hit you, what a *twerp*... Hope it heals up quickly, lips have a good blood supply so fingers crossed. ~Gaz
  15. LOL, it sounds pretty clear cut which pads to go for if you have discs! When I asked for pad advice for maguras I had about 6 different suggestions!! ~Gaz ps: sorry this wasnt a very constructive post :">
  16. Wow (Y) Some crazy riding going on there! Phew some of those gaps and drops are incredible! Thanks for sharing that, its great! How many years have you been riding trials for? ~Gaz
  17. OOOO dear, I am definately wearing shin guards when I get my new bike! (On that note my shiny new DMR V-12s in polished silver turned up today in all there glory, cant wait until I can get them on the bike!!!!!) ~Gaz
  18. Hiya dude, your list of achievements looks great to me (being a trials newbie waiting for a bike), and I hope I can do what you can in two years! (Y) But the whole point of riding is to have fun! When I get my bike I will be practising backhops and getting up 2-3 foot walls and 3-4 foot gaps I would hope, which is nothing compared to you but the point is I will (hopefully!) be having a blast! In fact the best times I have ever had on my bike were years ago on a bike that resembled a garden shed (19 inch frame or so when I was about 9 years old) learning to trackstand and wheelie and do endos (Y) It can be fun (not that you are at all) to be bad at something because you still have all those exciting new things to learn/improve on! Just what I think! Now go ride! ~Gaz
  19. :"> I had the same problem a few weeks ago when taking the pedals off my old bike, so I called my grandad and he just turned the spanner the other way - I thought he had stripped the threads in the crank! Lol! But now I know! ~Gareth
  20. Hiya! I dont! I am bikeless at the moment and have ordered a Leeson Fluid frame and am getting all the parts in at the moment (frame will be another 4-5 weeks or so before its ready :shifty: ). Thanks for the advice - all I need now is a gear cable then I will have (well ordered) all of the parts I need *touch wood*. :D ~Gaz
  21. Right - I just ordered 4 zoo pads :bunny: Hmmm, to run them front and rear or just on the back and have the set last twice as long... Thanks for the replies, ~Gaz
  22. Excellent, thank you - that sounds good. Im going to order some now then :bunny: ~Gaz
  23. LOL! True! :bunny: I will soon be the owner of at least four of the items mentioned in this thread (KMC Kool, middlesburn cranks, Hope mono (front) and xc (rear) hubs and Maggys) :deej: so I hope they are that good! ~Gaz
  24. Hello guys! Well I have been scrolling through endless review of pads etc but what I really want to know is the best value magura braking solution. Ive heard that Koxx Bloxx browns last ages, but quickly wear out a grind (which Im not too keen on doing regularly to say the least!) My ideal solution would be some cheap, good pads that would work on a clean, unground Sun Rhyno 24" rim (also giving good modulation for street/manuals). Failing that which pads have the best value/performance/wear rate/grind wear rate. A tall order I know but help will be most appreciated!!! Thanks! :bunny: ~Gareth
