Hi - sorry to hear of your misfortune! I have had my trials bike for over 6 weeks now, but have spent about 3 weeks, on and off recovering from various aches and pains!! I had to take a week off when I pulled a muscle in my back (unbearable to so much as backhop) and now my bike is sitting in the shed because I have a sore shoulder, so Im giving it a week to (hopefully) recover rather than just jumping back on the bike after 2 days like I have been doing. Maybe it will heal this time! Fingers crossed we heal soon :) ~Gaz

Just 9 trials videos saved on my computer - I tend to watch them a few times and then delete them. The folder does weight in at 4gb + though as there are quite a few freeride/DH videos in there as well :) ~Gaz

:P All very impressive stuff! It looks a really awesome place to ride :P That picture with the log stack though.... what if one slipped and landed on you :P :) Take care, ~Gaz

I bought a load of those £6 heatsink pads a while ago -are these pads known to have a problem with backings or are they alright (Y) ? Thanks, ~Gaz

So... my Leeson 24 inch has a 1020mm wheelbase which is pretty short compared to most stock bikes. Is front tapping a techinque worth learning do you think (to anyone)? I usually backwheel or just ride up obstacles... Thanks, Gaz

Ouch, that sucks, sorry to hear it :$ If one pad snaps/comes off the backing on Maggies, doesnt the other half of the brake still work on the rim, ie: half of the power? ~Gaz

Im just downloading a video off the site now, but I just noticed that my bike is on there! :S :) ~Gaz

I pretty much always wear my gloves. Having said that, the other day I was just messing about in the yard for a minute and didnt put them on and it felt pretty nice :) I get big blister/callus things even through my gloves :S , but they dont seem to hurt very much anymore. ~Gaz edit: spelling

Thanks again for the compliments :S ! I had a fun ride today at the "place with the benches" in the video. The problem I have with practising "ups" is finding walls with the correct height (and without a substantial drop on the other side!) They all seem to be too big or too low, and Im tempted to put bricks on the low walls to make them higher - but Im a little concerned about the safety of doing that! :) :) ~Gaz
-
Thanks ;) I have improved quite a bit since making that video, but I will wait a few months before I make another video so people can really see the difference! That "place with the bench" is pretty good for a beginner, however there is glass everywhere as its opposite a pub  So I have to be careful where I place my wheels. Hopefully today Im going to go exploring the industrial estate, where if I remember correctly there area couple of big rocks/boulders sectioning off an area - might be fun! ~Gaz

Lol, I sooo didnt pick up on that <_< Well , it was fairly late :o ~Gaz edit: LOL I only just realised what the "giaco cutout" means - oh my god how slow am I! I thought it meant the weird shape!!! HA!

Cool, I would prefer to have the extra strength and weight savings rather than" better looks"<_< ~Gaz

Hi! Grr at back pains - I know how you feel. I was getting them paricularly badly the first few weeks I had my bike, but then I started stretching before every ride and I also moved my bars further forwards. Touch wood the pain has been reduced (but not eliminated). So what trialsboy said could be worth a shot <_< And definately start stretching before a ride if you dont already :S ~Gaz

Eeew, that bike really doesnt appeal to me <_< The silver frame that Davetrials posted a picture of looks much nicer in my opinon. Maybe the new frame is much stronger/stiffer or something though... ~Gaz

 Nice video, the quality was fine! Good riding too! Where did that riding take place, it looks awesome! ~Gaz
-
Wow nice bike  I wonder who will be the first to combine this disk brake frame with the bump headtube and that funky paint :S That would look cool! ~Gaz
-
Awww *hugs!*, thats really bad news for you  Im miles away so I doubt I will see it but I will "keep my eyes open" anyway.... Try your house insurance - most policies will give you some money for a bike, even £200 would be better than nothing, right? ~Gaz

:P I agree, the Leesons are really awesome people to deal with because Leeson bikes is more of a hobby than a money making venture. Mr Leeson does it for enjoyment, which is obvious when you talk to him. I had a slightly different experience with the waiting time than Narrowbars - it can vary tremendously! I had to wait about 2 months and Im pretty sure Tomm said he had to wait a long time also. Well worth it though in my opinion :- ~Gaz

Hi  Thanks for the encouragement! Hopefully in 6 months time I will be quite a bit better and can make a much more impressive video (Y) When I first got the bike I couldnt hardly do anything so Im pleased with what I have learnt :- I showed my mum my video and told her I put it on the net and she was impressed. But then I showed her a Matt Burrows video (really good riding) and she said "wow... errr are you sure you want people to see yours!?" :D ~Gaz

Hiya guys (Y) You may remember the small vid I posted after 6 days of trials. Well here is the sequel! A bit soon I know, but Im on holiday so I have the free time :D I went out this afternoon with my girlfriend for half an hour, and she filmed (using my digital camera) me "doing my stuff" so to speak! Its 8mb and just over 2 mins long I have had my trials bike for about 5 weeks now but I havent been riding trials properly for almost 2 weeks until yesterday due to a strained shoulder and back! I know my riding certainly doesnt compare to most (all?!) of the vids on here but I thought, " hey, why not just post it!?" If you dont mind watching a beginner back hopping up and down steps and little walls etc then feel free to have a nose  ~Gaz oh, here is the link

(Y) You dont say?! The leverage must have been immense!! Im surprised that didnt break something! Is it still working okay then? ~Gaz
-
Hiya :D I think most teenages could afford £250 for a bike quite easily if they really wanted to. Back when I was in primary school I wanted a nice bike (xc bike! :) ) so I saved up my £3.50 rising to £5 pocket money every week and any gift money for 2 years and managed to scrape enough to buy a Cannondale F600 (new) xc bike by the start of high school! My point being it is an easy task (for your average teen, there are circumstances where its not possible!) if you are dedicated to riding :) If they choose to blow it on mobile phone credit and sweets etc then thats there problem! LOL, I know exactly what you mean about mums/grandparents faces - :D :P when I showed them what trials was :D  ~Gaz

Hiya  Thanks for the advice everyone! Yeah, I am a little over-cautious with my bike with it being new, and also because its the first bike I have ever looked after myself! (used to be serviced for me) I thought that the bolts might work loose initially, which they seem to have done, so its a good job I checked - and I will keep checking! I dont think (touch - wood) I would break the bolt by over tightnening - Im not exactly bulging with muscle :) Thanks Tom, I think its an awesome bike :P ~Gaz

Hi guys, I have had my trials bike for a couple of weeks now, and I just gave it the once over checking bolts hadnt worked loose etc and the wheels were true. I checked the crank bolts and one of them (right) tightened up quite a bit. They are Middlesburn Pro trials crank on a Square taper UN53 BB. I just read on the net that you shouldnt re-tightnen crank bolts once they have been installed properly or you will spilt the crank? Mr Leeson really put them on tight when we built the bike. So, are you supposed to keep the crank bolts as tight as you can or once there on should I just leave them well alone? I was using a LONG allen key from Tartybikes by the way for plenty of leverage. Thanks guys, I cant afford to damage my cranks so advice is appreciated! ~Gaz

Thanks Hobnobs, thats good to know. Still, I think I will try and move the wheel over slightly or move the piston thingy to get them evenly spaced  ~Gaz
