  1. PICCY Hey Cheers for the replies! I have linked to a pic of my bike (when I first got it), practically the same now, but the bars are angled forwards a little, I have a lizard skin chainstay protector, and I have a grind on the rear wheel. I have spotted a very nice looking stem here, a Hope one. Only thing is my bars are normal sized not oversized as far as I know so so I would need new bars too. I hope the pic helps, any more suggestions are welcome Gareth
  2. Hiya! Right, so a longer stem. I dont think I have enough steerer tube for any more stem stackers, but I figure that a longer stem with the same rise (10 degrees) should raise bar height anyway. How would this affect riding then? I guess it will put more weight over the front end meaning the front is harder to raise but once on the back wheel the bike will have to be steeper to compensate which would improve back wheel control, as well as giving a more "roomy cockpit"? Thanks, Gareth
  3. Hey guys! Been a while since I posted last but I have been lurking nearly every day I have been riding trials since around last october, since I bought my Leeson fluid. I ride semi regularly, like maybe twice a week, although with exams at the moment its more like once a week Anyway, I find that I pretty much just ride "normal" trials if that makes sense... just hopping on pallets usually, sometime backwheeling walls and on benches, gaps etc, with only the odd manual. (The next thing on my list to learn is that thing where you jump across a gap etc to front wheel then flick to the rear ) So, basically I feel like Im not quite doing what my Leeson was made for... Its a lovely bike and I am comfortable on it, but Ive never tried a 26inch high bb etc trials bike. I fancy the idea of entering a trials comp at some point too (although Im really rubbish at natural at the moment!!!) I dont think I would want to change it but I was wondering if there is anything I could do to make it more suited to the riding Im doing? At the mo I have a 80mm easton stem /riser bar combo, perhaps a longer stem or something as the 1020 wheel base seems fairly short for a 6ft 2 guy! I have tilted the bars forwards a little and that feels a little better. I should prob mention the geo is 1020mm wheelbase, 380 chainstays, 20+ BB rise and 73/74 head angle. Any opinions, or am I just being silly!? Apart from Tomms Leeson, before it was stolen of course, and my bike, I have never ridden any other trials bike, so Im just assuming that the long low 26" bikes would be better suited.... Cheers, and my apologies for this rather long winded post!! Gareth
  4. I like the pic, nice gap i havent done a rail gap yet, but if I did I would wear a helmet! (hint hint nudge nudge :$ ) Gareth
  5. Hi Go to Here and then videos, there are some awesome and high quality videos of George Kollias, the Nile Drummer, who is one of the best death metal drummers Gareth
  6. Hiya I thought your vid was pretty good, and the music went okay in my opinion, but I do like Killswitch Engage. My first video had Children of Bodom music which is pretty much as heavy and I had only been riding 6 days and was much much worse than you (still am!) Pitty about the quality but good effort Gareth
  7. Phew, that is a darn nice bike you have there Personally I would go with a black front tyre but even with the red one it looks awesome! Nice colour too. Gareth
  8. Very nice Leeson, not too keen on the colour though! Regarding the tire choice - nothing wrong with the Racing Ralph in my opinion, I run them front and rear! Gareth
  9. Hi Thanks for the comments! Yeah it is good that Emmi supports my riding, its quite funny actually because she actually knows quite a lot now, about parts and geometry and stuff! Her favourite rider is Neil T or "frog man" as she calls him Yeah I wil check the rides section and try and come to chester when there is a ride. I should definately be able to come quite frequently in the summer holidays! Gareth
  10. Hey guys! Its been a while since I posted any pics of me riding. Ive been riding trials for about 5 months now, although I havent been practising very much , about once a week for an hour or so , due to being so busy at uni. But now its the easter hols so I can ride a little more My girlfriend Emmi took some pics of me today on a quick street ride, and I quickly made this little gallery of pics. Any comments are welcome! THE PICS ARE HERE Gareth ps: Im really glad I bought this Leeson It rides really nice! pps: How do you find the server, fast? And the gallery?
  11. Hey I would definately reccomened Zen, they have one of the best reputations in the industry and have won many awards. I use them in my student house at uni Not the cheapest, but not extortionate by any means. You can see a comparison between some of the isps mentioned on this page Gaz
  12. Very good video, and the riding was really impressive! That place with the red brick walls looks like an awesome place to ride! Song fitted well to Gaz
  13. Hi Cool video, and cool bike too Ive uploaded your vid to my server for you, nice fast UK host (Zen): HERE Gaz
  14. All of Felix's vids rule This one included! That just about sums it up.... Gaz ps: okay I had to say it... soooo smooth!
  15. Interesting to see a female riding trials! She seemed really nervous with lots of moves - I think she has more skill than she shows, just not the guts to go with them perhaps? Some of those fields with all the crates looked (amazing!) Are there any other vids of female riders floating around, preferably more experienced riders? Gaz
  16. Awesome! I used to spend all day sunday every weekend Jumping, slalom and Downhilling at Nantmawr! Like every sunday for a couple of years! I knew ever inch of the place as far as the courses and jumps went (yup even the jumps in the fields halfway up!) But... I have never really done any trials there, and now I have a trials bike I will have to go back and have a look... there were plently of obstacles that looked great for trials IIRC. Thanks for reminding me! Gareth
  17. Here we go, possibly the largest collection of pics of a single trials bike Ive seen, lol ) Enjoy! HERE Gareth
  18. Hiya! Im just uploading all my high quality photos of my Fluid (the black and silver one above John Shrewsburys (I think) ), there will be links in a min Gaz
  19. I can ride like that too.... in my dreams :$ Great riding!!! So much control..... excellent Music fitted well too IMO, Gareth

Hiya Im downloading now so I cant comment on the video yet, but I can host your video for you if you would like? I have got 1GB of unlimited bandwidth hosting now (max filesize 50MB) on fast (Zen) UK servers which might be handy, if you (or anyone else) would like? Gaz EDIT: hehe funny video! A little "effects happy" perhaps but it has a good atmosphere to it! Good work! Pretty good riding to, how long have you been riding for?
  21. I like both the new and the old! I have been into mountain biking (not trials in particular) since before the MBUK videos "Dirt", Getta Grip and Chainspotting etc, and I look back fondly at those vids. But I do really enjoy all the new vids too! My favourites are the vids by Felix (too smooth!) and plenty of others are great too I wouldnt particularly say that any "generation" of video inspires me to ride than another. Gaz

    My New Vid

Nice vid indeed ) Very impressive riding! Nice and smooth Gaz
  23. Hiya ) Cool video I really enjoyed it, and personally thought the music fitted pretty well, although I agree there were possibly too many bails. Nice gap at the end Gareth
  24. Hiya, Im using the Racing Ralphs too! They are very light, but big volumes so nice and bouncy! Ive had two punctures since last october (touch wood), both in the front tyre! And neither of these were pinches, one was a drawing pin and the other was a shard of glass. I just have cheapo 26 inch inner tubes (lol) in too, maybe I have just been lucky! I dont know about other tires really, but as far as I know they are the only decent 24" they make. Hope that helps, Gaz
  25. LOL! I shouldnt laugh, but as long as no one got hurt then Sore afterwards? Gareth
