  1. Hello, well my second bike maintenence thread of the day I had my lbs bleed and put new seals on my front Hope mono trial. I assumed that it would be as easy to put back on as it was too take off, but obviously not. The front wheel can hardly move at all, the brake seems to be permanantly on? I put the spacer/washer back where it was originally.. The only thing I can think of is that when changing the seals the shop took the pads off and put them on the other way around or something? Any ideas of how to sort this, Thanks (again), Gareth
  2. Cheers guys! I got it on by squeezing all the tyre into the middle and with the use of my favourite breakfast spoon, that amazingly survived! Sorted! And I think I will have to get one of those DH tyre levers, looks immense! Gareth
  3. Hi guys, Im sure I read a thread similar to this a while back but I cant find it with search. Im trying to fit a Maxxis Hansventure too a 47mm try-all rim (stock) and there are about 10 inches on either side I just cant get to pop on. I have broken 3 plastic tire levers, but I dont fancy using a screwdriver incase it folds the sidewall over or rips the inner tube etc. Hmm any suggestions would be much appreciated! Cheers, Gareth
  4. I really enjoyed that video Some nice smooth riding going on, great quality and filming, 9/10 from me! Gareth
  5. Cheers for the replies! It's fun to hear peoples differing opinions! Regarding the bench, I think its definately out of bounds for sidehopping! My "expert" football skills have gradually been demolishing it over the last week whilst I was waiting for the bike! Gareth
  6. I dont think this really warrants a new thread, and its related to the problem with the front disk, so: The square box thing on the lever (reservoir?) spews out little drops of some liquid when I pull the lever. The bike shop were supposed to have serviced it, maybe they didnt do something up properly or is this to be expected (I doubt it)?! - How can I fix this? Thanks Gareth
  7. Yeah, something like that! I wanted a trials bike to "do it all", street, natural, and gears to get me around! I think it puts ticks in all the boxes! Gareth Cheers Awww, your so silly Luke Gareth
  8. Hello guys! I have just got my Ashton back from the bike shop today It looks awesome! Havent gone further than the end of my drive yet as I want to grind the rim (pads kept sticking to the tar), but it felt really nice! Cheers to Ilukeee for selling me it, although I have changed a load of the parts with bits on my Leeson, so I think posting some pictures is worthwhile! The only thing Im not happy with (apart from the rear rim which I will sort soon) is the front brake, it really has no hold at all... gaps to front wheel just arent going to happen with it at the mo! Any suggestions? I was thinking of sanding the pads and washing the disk, but with what should I wash it? Spec: Koxx forks Chris King classic --> try all rim Hope front hub, headset, CNC stem, trial disk brake, quick releases DMR V12 Easton EA70 bars Middlesburn pro trials cranks Magura with Heatsink booster and pads KMC Kool chain XT shifter, cheap Shimano cassette, BB, and rear mech Click the thumbs for large images!
  9. Great riding Most of the video seems to involve riding on rails ... something I havent got around to yet! You guys make it look easy, but I know it isnt!! Gareth
  10. oh my god I WON SOMETHING!!!!! 112! Cheers!
  11. Hey dude! I knew you would be excited, you were going on about winning the pure like a month ago! Almost time.....
  12. Hello again, just rescuing the thread before it dissappears off the bottom of the page! Any more opinions on the steerer being 3mm too short? It doesnt sound like a lot to me but in trials I guess this is a high stress area! Cheers, Gareth
  13. Hiya, I think they definately have potential. I like some of the riffs, and they are obviously decent on there instruments! The vocals could so with some work maybe, perhaps more actual screaming less grunting but I guess thats is personal preferance. The recording is terrible though! I mean, I have around £100 of equipment (an effects pedal and an external sound card) and IMO can produce some all right recordings! Click www.spinhalf.co.uk for 3 full songs I produced in my bedroom (the last one, Emily, is the most recent and best recorded I think). Cheers, Gareth
  14. Cheers, thats really useful! I shall order a UN53 73-118mm off Chain reaction this evening (they don't seem to sell the UN73's with long enough axles?) Any more opinions on the steerer length? Thanks, Gareth
  15. Hi guys, I am taking my bike (2006 Ashton Justice) to the bike shop next week to have some bits and bobs swapped off my Leeson (cranks, chain and cassette etc). I need to know the BB size to fit my Middlesburn Pro trials cranks, square taper. Am I right in thinking 73mm x 122mm?(from the FAQ, but I dont know what year this applies to). Also, I was swapping the echo stem it came with for my shiny Hope CNC stem and notice that the top of the steerer is about 7-8 mm below the top of the stem. The Hope leaflet with the stem recommends 5mm, is this okay? It looks okay to me, as there is still a substantial amount of steerer to clamp onto but if there is any doubt to its safety then I will just get new forks. Thanks a lot!!! Gareth
  16. Cool, thanks for the reply. I have never tried a bike with a FFW, but I am eager to try this new 108 engagement one. Gareth
  17. Hi Looks very cool I would like to know how you find the new freewheel? Can you notice the extra engagements over, say, a King? Thanks, Gareth
  18. Arghh I went home for the weekend and took my bike back to save space for when I move out properly next weekend , so I cant come. Have fun! Gareth
  19. Im thinking that they may be lines of tar? But having never used tar I dont really know how it looks on rims! Gareth
  20. Hey I have a Leeson 24" with the same spec as above except its +20BB and Im not sure about the headtube, its either 73 or 74 degrees, rides very nice! Not allowed to discuss selling things in here really but Ill just say that Im buying an Ashton at the weekend, and I only want to keep one bike Gareth
  21. Ahh okay I didnt catch on at all I just thought 'this doesnt look right' I agree, I would much prefer to replace a rim than a hub!! Gareth
  22. Hi, I used to find that also (no momentum after the endo). If you have your weight a little more forward than normal when you do the endo, then as you land quickly shift your weight backwards you will be rolling backwards fairly quickly! You will know when you have got the motion right as you will have plenty of momentum, if you jump back to early or late however it will feel "forced" and wont work. Gareth
  23. Hi, yeah I think its about 11 inches or so, but if your still eager to know I can measure it tommorow for you Gareth
