Don't get me wrong, the video was awesome, riding was immense, filming was dece, and edit was top notch, but f**k me, that lycra shit completly ruined it.

Basically, you install a video player for linux, play the video, and catch what data it returns for information on video, then just tell it to take a screenshot at the frame you want it to. Its actually a super easy concept, and is really easy to impliment. They also provide a comprehensive codec pack, and as far as i can tell, the only format it doesn't support is .divx. Not sure yet. I know exactly what uploader i'll be using and modifying, so i can hopefully get a status bar going, just need to look at some other stuff like ways to check the actual real file type, rather then just using the extension, stop people renaming files so they can share mp3's and such like. Might do video management first though, so you can password videos, lock them, etc etc.

Would be a beast though. If you've seen that car chase video on the interweb where the cops try to fish tail him, but he just does a 180 and keeps driving, 3 times, i'm pretty sure thats a Skyline. Proof right there lads. Although, when i used to think about this a few years back, like, 5 or 6, it used to be the Diablo, as it was my favourite car, and still is behind a Skyline.

For anyone that had as much trouble getting it as me, or not getting it as the case may be, i'm currently downloading it to Trials-Shack.

Bought a Double Cheeseburger, came outside to these 2 chavs, completly wankered and completly off their faces on other various drugs hassling my friends, so they started to hassle me. Anyway, long story short, they tried to steal my wheels, with me holding onto the bike, so he went to undo the rear quickrelease, just yanked the bike, he tried again, and i yanked it again. By this time, my friends had been let go and they'd gone off to get help, so was me on my own then they tried to take front wheel, so i again, yanked bike, and this somewhat pissed him off, so he put bike down, as did i, then this huge block came over that my friends had found, was lucky, 'cause as i was backing off, he took a mighty swing at me. I ducked and avoided and then they was told to get lost by this big bloke. Worthing is a nice place. Honest.

However, what i've also found is that people can't give their honest opinion on something, where in the rare case, it is actually what they like best if they are sponsored by the manafacturer or not. There is always two sides, but i must admit, these cases are rare.

If i was you, i'd either buy a dictionary, or get better education.

Make it better? Obviously you've not seen the brief. Theres still another 3 or 4 months of work to go into Trials-Shack before its complete. 5 screenshots will be taken throughout the duration of the video. Its not every division by 5, for example, if a video is 50 seconds long, there isn't a screenshot at 0seconds, 10, 20, and so on, it's worked out to do it between the 0 and 10, between 11 and 20 and so on. If its getting a screenshot of the first segment, 0 to 10 for example, it will take the screenshot after the first 20% and 10, in this case, between second 2 and 10.

Also need to make it so you can enlarge the files, it displays at what time the screenshot is from, and updates the videos actual length. Right, i've just turned on video thumb nailing. Its currently not public and is running in the background, need to leave it for a few hours to test. Once theres enough data to finalize what formats are supported and that it all works together (screenshots to video, only taken once, blah blah) i'll turn it on. Hopefully tomorrow or at the weekend. At that point i'll make a new thread to get opinions on it and see if anything needs improving regarding to this feature. Just thought you'd like to know, as i've been going on about it all week.
