Ronnies suck. DX32's are the rim to use for trials, unfortunately they're not (to my knowledge anywho) available un-drilled in the UK, only drilled (labelled as "Base" rims from bikedock). They're the same as Planet-X BMF's and X-lite Phatso rims, which all rule. They've been out for years, and I've not seen a rim as strong as them that's good enough for trials yet. (Apart from my double mavic, which was very strong, just not dent proof ) Mike.

Yeah man, I'll be there, looks like it'll only be me, samwize & possibly Steve-a, all the other worcester lot are fagging it out for the day. Catch you theres. Michael. -
Sweet vid, mega chilled, some nice lines, the gap up from the bench to concrete pipe by Pat was awesome, as was the line after by felix (90 gap to metal thing). Nice one. Mike.

I had one of those a very long time ago, on my blue Base TA26 (before the "newer" ones came out), yet it was too wide for my PX Zebdi, so I very much doubt it'd fit on most modern frames without a lot of bodging. Maybe measure the widest width it'll accept? They're pretty stiff though. Mike.

Yeah, christ, Dave posted some pics, no need to be twats about it! Anyways, nice pics dave, got the exposures just about right in those, liked the colours in the 2nd one. Good to see you're getting to grips with the camera too! Nice one.

Without trying to cause any kind of argument at all, what were the results of the torque tests? What Nm did Hope get up to through each hub, and what were the conclusive results of each? And although hopes customer service can't be faulted, it has to be said, neither can King's, everything I've ever sent back to them (none of the king parts I've used, just one's people have sent to me which have either been abused, or just the standard axles ) have had no problem with warranty. King had replaced and serviced everything which was necessary, even if it had been misused or not taken care of well, with good faith, and always sent them back (across the chanel!) for free... And as far as environmental and social aspects go, they're probably better than any other bike company: http://chrisking.com/pucks/page3.html I'd love to see hope be able to promote things like that. I know hope have been fairly inconsistant with their customer service, whilst almost always positive, sometimes postage has been charged, sometimes not, and have been (including myself) been charged for parts, which is pretty unknown to king... Anyways, the new Hope hub is sounding to be pretty good, will be interesting once it's been released. Mike.

Nice one for getting the results up so quickly Barbara, cheers. Also cheers to you and everyone else who helped organise the event, and all the obsevers, it was a cracking day, really good fun. Was great to see people who I don't get to see that often, as well as put names to faces. I'm pretty pleased with 7th place in expert, I've only ever competed in intermediate before, so thought it was quite a good jump. I actually enjoyed the mud, just gave it that extra level of difficulty, just not gonna like having to clean my bike off now! Look forward to this years comps. Mike.

I'm off to bed in a minute, got to be up at half 5 in the morning! Should be a really fun trial, got Me, Matt Burrows, Tim Stedman, Joe from droitwitch, and a mate called Alec coming up in the landy. Looking forward to it, see you tomorrow! Mike.

Yeah, last year when I woke up, I could barely see out past the windscreen there was that much mist, but it dried up so nicely, was really awesome weather there. Hope it will be this year too!! Sooo looking forward to it.

You're in Poland yeah? Which is in the EU. Items sent from and to within the EU won't get taxed.

See the email address: mailto:gullible@koxxdidntapprovethis.biz?subject=I totally fell for it.

You don't need that much. And the UST high rollers are only 850g, that's what I'm running F+R.
-
Yeah, but I'm simply using a 20" inner tube which I'm given for free from my LBS, and the sealent, I couldn't imagine anyone would pay the price they are asking. I've tried, and used the liquid latex off ebay, and it doesn't work, it simply dries up in a couple of weeks, and doesn't seal as well as stan's stuff... Yeah, it'll be fine with those rims & pressures. From my experience (quite a lot) it is worth just getting the high roller UST tyres, they're really good, 42a, etc etc. Mike.
-
*Just realised how much has been posted OT!* Thats it's only downfall, you have to run them reasonabely high (on wider rims at least). On the front, on my X517, I can run fairly low, but on the back, i'm having to run at least 25psi to stop it folding and air & latex burping out!
-
You don't get pinches, as there's no tubes to pinch! I've rimmed out on stuff very hard, and it won't pinch. I beleive you can put the sealent in your tubes to fix small punctures too. Mike.

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=7134 These tyres (High roller 2.35" 42a), on standard rims (Mavic X517 and Drilled Alex DX32), and stans sealent (available from freeborn.co.uk who's website is currently down).
-
Why? I've got it running F+R, and it's awesome, never pinch, seals holes immediately, and save over 600g compared to most setups. If people've not seen this video: http://stansbikeparts.com/demo.wmv then do. Mike.

Squince, I'm not sure where you got the figure of £25 from. Yeah, they are £39.99 in heatsink CNC backings. - shame to clog up the thread... Not seen the video, will download now. Mike.

Get yourselves registered on www.southerndownhill.com (or forum.southerndownhill.com if you're lazy) and PM "Chameleon" he did lots of my parts for a very reasonable price (£20 for loads of stuff). I even sent him my mango king top cap, so he could match the colour, which he did perfectly. Done a brilliant job, lasting great, and does it nice and quickly too. Let him know I reccomended you guys too. Mike.

I've heard of several! Bigman cracked his Hope Trial rotor in 5 places! Thing to remember in trials is that the forces go forwards as well as backwards, such as when you come up short in a gap (backwards) or just stop normally, so it doesn't matter which way you put it.

Hey guys, got quite a few photos I thought I'd put them up. I've just done them all in one go, so 56k guys, gutted! There's loads, so don't be picky, just thought I'd share what I've got! Be prepared for a long wait.... These are all from Wednesday's Bristol ride: (Wish I hadn't missed his front wheel!) (With added gurn ) Shiiiit. And a couple of nicer ones from Worcester: Some from a ride at Rampage, with Steve-a and Tim Stedman (all the ones of me were taken by Steve-a ) A few from Merry Hill, this was the 1st day I'd got my camera! (Don't ask ) These are from the Bourne End fun night a while back, only got a couple of photos though A nice one from Bromsgrove, of Ian. Random one of a light bulb, with a super high shutter speed, thought it looked pretty cool. Mike.

Was a mint ride, so funny! No joke! The thing must've been 6 foot long, it just came out and grabbed him off his bike! Look! [attachmentid=2599] Jon Shrewsbury decided to go in for a closer look. Negative results. [attachmentid=2600] Bigman did get shit on! [attachmentid=2601] Another funny pic: [attachmentid=2602] I'll get the rest of the decent shots up tomorrow!! Mike.
