  1. That, and the fact if you think about moments and forces, you're putting more force through the chain with a smaller ring, due to the increased leverage. Anyways, I helped out with the development of the bash, and received the first prototype, and I've never had any troubles. I'd go with a HS one. (And have owned 2 Middleburn Ti bashes).
  2. Hah! Turns out they didn't include my A2 physics coursework! So that makes the final total: Maths: A Physics: A Photography: A Miiiint. Haha, I even got a D in C4, and still got an A overall in maths - crazy.
  3. Just checked mine online, A in maths and photography, B in physics (a little gutted but oh well) D in media - meh.
  4. Woop, the clubs open at 2pm.
  5. Quick point; obviously you'll need to register your income/profits etc, but you don't need to be VAT registered 'till you're turning over £64k+
  6. No shit, I never said it was unfair nor unjust. Fair enough on their part. Cheers. Lets hope I'll get a test date soon after the court malarky.
  7. Meh, tyres were noticeably worn, and I bought them & the wheels separately from the car. I even have new ones in the post, which I told them, but as they (correctly in all fairness), said "they're no good in the post". Will see what happens anyway. I didn't start it as a discussion topic really, just wondered if anyone knew the answer to my question in the 1st post..

    f**ks Sake.

'reet guys. Got pulled over today, police decided to check over my car, and discovered how badly worn my front tyres were. End of it is basically I'll get 3 points per tyre = 6 points = license taken off me. All I wanna know is, is it possible to apply for your test before you've actually had it taken off you. (ie take it say the day after the court date/whatever). Mike.
  9. Why not just get a new head unit? Can get one like my sony one for £70ish from Halfords which has a 3.5mm input, so pefect for ipods, laptops etc.

    Driving Test

I did it in my old Polo, passed in that with 2 minors. I'd got the Scirocco a week before, and was tempted to do it in that, but I don't think they'd take too kindly to a learner in a low slung 80s sports car! Wouldn't have thought they'd be negative about it, probably a better thing, especially if it's not some chavvy rubbish, and chances are you'll be more comfortable in your own car due to more practice in it. Good luck.
  11. I'll pop along, weather should be reet. Joe B, you're not coming mate. Get a wobble board and do that on Saturday instead.
  12. No, that's DL, don't think he comes in untill a couple of episodes later. Bloody amazing series. I missed the first three when it was on sci-fi (downloaded from 5 onwards as soon as I could ), so it was cool to watch the start, and it's really interesting watching it through again now you know what happens, as you notice things you wouldn't otherwise.
  13. Cap didn't. I'm sure there'll be pics & vids up at some point.. Was a mint party - cheers Mike & Mike's family!
  14. Lmfao that was funny. As per everyone else, cracking video J, captured the day perfectly for me.
  15. Hahahaha, awesome. Not sure where your sense of time got to, it wasn't even 1am.
  16. I'm sure I'll turn up. Whats the nightlife like in Warrington on a Saturday night? In case we get bored or tire of the lack of ass. Who else is coming?
  17. Bit more time, they'll get done.
  18. I'd still like to know if the comp will hold championship points. It will be a bit of a mission for myself to drive down, as it will be many others. I agree with Fred & Gtburrows that it's fair to those whom it will be nearly inaccessible, to make it a non championship scoring round.
  19. like 3 1/2 months ago I spent over £600 on an awesome PC tower, was using it with a 19" screen. PC ran at 3.3ghz, 2gb pc2 6400 ram, etc etc, was mint. Decided to get a Mac book, and am now selling the pc. I got the basic one, with 2gb, and it's fantastic! Very glad I made the switch from Windows - Mac. Chris, I'd definitely get a laptop, has made loads of difference to me just being able to be completely mobile, and can bring images and stuff to people so easily. The "small" screen isn't a problem at all, I do loads of photo editing on it, and can easily plug in my 19" screen when I want to. I was looking at getting a vaio, but Macs were loads cheaper for the same spec, however you would probably get more for your money by getting something like a *ahem* dell...
  20. But the 17-40 was designed as a full frame landscape lens, where you'd often be using much smaller apertures anyway. They do make a similar lens, the 16-35mm f/2.8, which, as mentioned is more expensive. Same reason they make four varieties of the 70-200mm lens (f/4, f/4 IS, f/2.8, f/2.8 IS), the 2.8's are more expensive and heavier, so you have to think about whether you can justify the extra weight/cost when buying a lens. Also, due to the difference in sensor size, FF gives roughly 1 2/3 stop (f/2.8 to say f/5!) less depth of field, and with the same technology, the same improvement in noise control. Which also means there's less need for lenses quite as fast. (btw f/2.8 - f/3.5 isn't "one stop", it's 2/3 of a stop. (f/2.8 - f/3.2 - f/3.5 - f/4.0)) Oh, and obviously not all L's are f/4.0!
  21. Alreet. Didn't take many pics this weekend, so there's not any major cool ones, but thought I'd share anyways. These were all taken friday night - I was completely bladdered, so was pleased that some turned out. Andrei: Bessel "riding" the ramps: Hobbsie doing the same: G Unick with a bird Porter: Random peeps & Ashley: Simpson cutting some random guys hair! Ad, I think warranty replacements still have to be taxed, it's repairs that aren't. I once had a king hub repaired and sent back to me, (King use Fed-Ex, who invoice you the bill after you've received the item), told Fed-Ex that it was a repair, and didn't hear from them since. Couple of basic points: Stuff from within the EU won't get charged. Stuff under £18 (marked/provable value) won't get charged. Stuff under £36 when marked as a gift won't get charged. Usually, most other things will. Sponge, there's not *that* much you can do, what's the actual value of the items in the parcel, and what was the marked duty value? I take it it was a shop/company that sent them? Mike.
