Thing is though, everyones talking as if driving fast is going to kill someone. But at the same time you can kill someone at 30 or less. So god knows how your supposed to drive (Y)

Righty my last post of the night in here lol.. anyways My dad said to me when i was learning to drive " One day you will crash and you will realise how dangerous a car can be, lets hope it isnt a bad one "
-
Exactly what im getting at.. i only used to speed in nationals, its pretty much national for about 6 miles before i get to my house which means 6 miles of solid speeding, which i can deal with because they are not "country lanes" but are like lesser B roads. But then it all started to go in to the 40's and 30 limits i've happily done over 60 in a 30.. when theres no one around in sight etc ( early sunday mornings) but its just made me think what the woman put in the article.. it only takes one person to walk across the road and you hit them... your life will change and your f**ked. We went through the exact thing at school, soon as someone would pass they would drive us around during lunch etc. Then eventually one after another you would hear about them crashing. I never really drove dangerously because it was a new car that cost a damn lot of money so i didnt want to f**k the car so slowly eased in to the speeding thing. I already talked to my friend about it and he said that im one of the safest drivers. But he is the only person i have ever had in the car that ive been proper speeding.. as if it was only me. I guesse its just a bit of a reality check thats all.

Yea thats the thing.. i feel safe in my car because i know it so well, it was bought new and has all the airbags and power steering etc etc.. but i just feel like im being so well protected but im the one thats going to end up killing someone if you get what i mean.. Im not saying i WILL kill someone but lets face it.. there is always that chance. But then again you can kill someone going at any speed.

Ok so i was driving home tonight with a friend.. usually i dont speed unless im alone due to not wanting a friends death on my hands if i do have a crash. But i wanted to get home and it was late so did a lot of speeding, not being big headed or anything but i know the route really well so i know when corners are coming up etc, so didnt spend much time under the national speed limit. But i remember a long time ago reading in a newspaper about how some kid hit a girl who was walking on her way home, the mother said and i quote " he made the decision before he left home to speed, thats what killed my daughter ". Ever since reading it i've been thinking more and more about the consequences of speeding and i really want to do something about it, like reflect in my own driving. I passed my test 2 years ago (35000 miles so far on the clock) and havent had any crashes or anything, i dont think of my self as been an amazing driver just competent i do pretty much 40 - 50 miles every time i want to go riding. But then im being a hypercrit because i clearly am not if i speed.. the limits are there for a reason. I went through well over half a year of being a christian driver through choice.. keeping to the limits at first its hard but eventually it was second nature until i left for uni and had no car.. now im back its as if i have a new toy to play with and rag the shit out of my car ( honda civic 1.6 ) I guesse what im saying is lately ive been thinking more about other people and the fact i could go to prison if someone were hit and killed. The consequences are what scare me. Now back to the whole point of the topic. I was just wondering what peoples views were on speeding.. i remember sitting in a car in control for the first time with an instructor and thinking how can people speed its so f**king stupid. But a few months after passing my test it all changed for the worse. So i want to know what current drivers think and what soon to be/want to be drivers think about it all. Im going to do the whole christian driving thing again and stick to it i hope.

Maxxis high roller super tacky/slow reezay 2.35 on the front Maxxis minion super tacky 2.5 rear Thats all you ever need... i have had really shit times with anything michelin.

i had the same sort of thing going on but just rebled the brake and it works fine again, i had to move the cyclinders out a bit too after the bleed and now it all feels solid etc. I dont usually rebleed my whole brake i just squeeze the lever and then put some more water in as i slowly let go of it ( like a quick bleed where you only undo the bolt at the lever and leave the other at the cylinders done up). I usually do that once a month or something which is no big deal at all..no need for de-icer/anti freeze in my brakes even when riding natural in the snow up at loughborough.

to be fair when your body is in that position you can see him making the 9ft easy lol how disgusting.. is it to know people can gap that far

put my first dent in my toxsins' downtube today... doesnt bother me one bit though.. since it was bound to happen riding trials. Atleast its something to talk about if your being bored to tears by someone on a group ride and you want to change the subject

Yay someone else doing civil engineering.. just about to start my 2nd year at uni. Anyways i remember asking about this either on here.. or to someone ages ago. I think theres definitely something going on.. like doing something practical etc. Theres always gonna be a few that couldn't give two shits about engineering though but id say that most would say they do.

So cutting out the nonsense.. the power link is stronger than the rest of the chain. No chance of the power link letting you down, you just have to worry about the 10's of other links. :) Edit: El typo made me sound dyslexic

Exactly.. its only till you make one you realise how pointless it is.. id prefer the floor any day of the week.. especially when you want to tighten stuff up.

Oooo i made a workstand for my gcse design project... which was actually nearly better than my a level project. Anyways theres 3 pictures of the top assembly that i used to hold the bike in place. Its all on wheels etc but theres loads of shit in the way so i couldnt photograph it with my camera any good. If you do want pics of the whole thing ill get it out tomorrow. Anyways.. What i basically did for the clamping was this: Get a catalogue like northern tool or something that ships a large range of hardware parts. I bought a swivel vice ( very small one made out of aluminium mostly), a caravan front wheel thing.. you know the ones that are on the very front of caravans and you turn the handle and the wheel drops ? ill get a pic anyhows.. and then i just attached them both together.. and then to a stand which i welded up. Literally simple as that.. With the vice i got two sheets of metal and curved them, then glued in some thick rubber to protect the frame when being clamped. Since the vice can swivel you can have the frame at any angle ( turn it upside down etc . Anyways like i said if you want more pics just ask heres the current ones http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....lbum&album=1118 lol and as you can see only been used twice.. rusting away and peeling apart now. It is 3/4 years old though ;) For some more ideas i did look in to using those gun clamp things where you squeeze the handle and it clamps down on something. They only made plastic ones though back in the day so they wouldnt have taken the weight. Also looked in to using some more of giant springed clothes peg style thing like in your pic above but they were gay expensive back then also.. so the vice was kind of a simple idea and you can open it out to pretty big sizes to accomodate some strange shaped down tubes and top tubes.

I think the best thing to do in these situations is to Quit

Yeap its been in the news, the sparrow is infact benifiting from global warming. It doesn't have to fly as far south anymore to keep warm during the winter months thus allowing it more time to shag and have little sparrow babies throughout the year. On topic: Sigs suck
-
Personally.. if image sigs were allowed im sure the whole "no advertising" war on terror would start up again. Plus being a 56k (only because i live out in the sticks) i wouldnt be arsed to wait for some random image or some blokes car forum loading up. However.. text signatures.. are usually more interesting than the actual threads ive ended up reading nowadays. Also my large text sig is sexy so deal with it nucca
