Like some guy posted... whats the point? why not just tap the big wall. But anyways yea about it being all top secret.. i hardly see it as being anything close to that. its just the same as being out there riding and seeing a new line or a new way of doing something. no doubt someone has tried this before

So since practically every friend i have has gone back to uni i've done nothing but bike and go on the internet for the last 2 weeks its given me a lot of thinking time to say the least. What does the future hold? Career Family/Death Love life Money Independence I thought about some of the things above... career... i pretty much dont want to stay in the uk... because the way this place is run its a f**king joke. I've always wanted to move to the usa or canada.. but thats going to be a major major major change. ill have to sort out so much shit, the plan was to do it after university but then theres the whole "will my parents come or will they stay in the uk". Yea if i go myself that will be major independence but its definitely going to be the highest point of lonelyness ever ( something that might change my mind and make me want to move back home). Theres just so much shit its overwhelming to even think about.. how the hell do you start a whole new life in a new country? its just f**king nuts. Im just hoping i find a job with a civil engineering company that can place me abroad or something ughh my head hurts already. Then i was thinking about family. Lets face it.. the day is going to come that our parents arent here. They are going to die. I dont want this to sound super depressing but damn.. that must be the most heartbraking thing to ever have happen to anyone. To just be stuck there not being able to ask them for help or their view on something. You spend so long with them there.. how do people deal with life without them? Then there was money.. this is another major reason why i want to move abroad. The exchange rate is going to practically double the money you have if you go to the states. Their houses seem to be twice as big for the same price we pay here in the uk. It just seems like the right option... but then we have to go back to the first big paragraph rant...how the f**k do you just wake up one day.. sell everything you own.. and move to a new country... knowing NO ONE. Its just insane... I could go on for hours, maybe this post is just something i needed to snap out of all the thinking.. but does anyone else really shit their selves over whats going to happen next? ( i remember being worried about not going to university and my A level grades.. but now it just seems that was nothing ). We've all heard people living by the saying " live every day as it comes " or words to that effect.. but dear lordy that can only work up to a certain point... you will just end up in a dead end job with f**k all to show for your life.

Unless some poor b*****d gets seriously injured or dies due to a backing failing. Safety should always be paramount regardless of price.

Be like what? i haven't asked any of you to say anything.I was making a point not an order, leave the bullshit* out of the threads if you know f**k all about the product. * Its an awful shame ive had to off load mine in to this thread because of certain people taking an observation the wrong way.

Arguing with someone in new members is a lost cause, i love pete for his multiple personality disorder :- . Reminds me of two guys that walk around the town near where i live, they think they are driving a bus. They take the same route that the buses do, they even cry when the kids pretend to slash their invisible tyres. People like pete are a gift to this world and i am looking forward to the electromagnetic hub (if i remember correctly) (Y)

You could also say that about an Echo 4 bolt booster as well. The standard £20 one being lighter and cheaper. OR Just maybe we can have a post with actual useful information from someone who owns and has used the booster just like the topic starter asked for. No offence but thats also the worst spelling of based i have seen in my life. This forum is becoming tragic to say the least.

Been running my king headset for over 2 years and its now in my 4th frame.

Not that i've been a busy little beaver and researched in to this pad making game. But the backings need degreasing. Maybe the wrong degreaser is being used? something too strong, causing the pads to go brittle. Resulting in cracks and backings falling apart.

Since im very very sad.. ive been keeping track on how the heatsink pads are going.. purely because i have been tempted to buy some. However the reason i have yet to buy any is purely because there seems to be mixed reviews, not just from person to person but from "normal" riders.. and "sponsored" riders. Im not going to get in to who is bumming who.. or whatever. I am just totally confused as to what to think about the pads being produced. Steve sounds as if he has his head screwed on when it comes to the research, yet the reviews are always mixed. Not picking on anyone here but i took the time to collate the type of responses i have seen from wayne since i class him as a pro rider, who has been around a long time and undoubtedly a lot of pads. honigs: only what i can advise you on mate but there awesum pads and there not like the konigs where if you put a harsh grind on the pads did tend to dissapear if you dragged the brake, but they did lock awesumly well. blues: i have had some on for ages, iv just got to change them onto my new belaey bike, but on my levelboss i had them on for about 3weeks and they are awesum honigs/konigs: the heatsink honigs/konigs that are soft compound would do, i know on the back with grinds and dragging the brake on they may wear out but on the front i rekon they will be awesum!!!! honigs: go try a big gap and be positive then they will suprise you even more when they hold..........absolutly awesum. honigs: personally i dont think heatsink needs to make any more pads than the Honigs and Konigs as both have been awesum for me. but hey others may have different opinions mine wore down spot on, didnt have any MAJOR premature wear problems. honigs: Brake = working awesum pad wear rate quite fast = i dont care cos my brake is working WIKID! konigs: heatsink red pads.................mine are awesum, on a grind or on a smooth rim. rain or shine the weather will never beat my brake. The problem im seeing is... every pad so far seems to out do the other and to put it simply as wayne says, awesum. Im sure steve doesnt want riders to just bullshit and say pads are working good when they arent, hell we could all do with an ego clense once in a while but its not going to help with the research. Im just totally confused as to what pads are good and what are not, because quite frankly anything being released from steve gets "bummed" for the first week. Then once the honey moon period is over they get slated. Another question/problem.. a point made by raub i beleive.. why are pads being sent out to riders when still in prototyping stage? no offence, but i dont actually know of any of the heatsink pads that have come out of prototyping. It just seems to me that as soon as a new colour pad has been "given out to the select few", any of these riders say they are amazing.. then they are being sold off for £14? £6? £10? £11?. To be fair i just dont see a decent pad being produced... and weve had it seems everything from batch A to Z... even the Sink/Tarty collaboration seems to have fizzled out. The blue pads may be great for most the riders that are using them at the moment.. but give it a few weeks and i will bet a lot of money that the views will all change.. it always does. To put this simple.... banging out a shit load of pads, hearing biased reviews and releasing prototype pads isnt going to find the ultimate compound. Everyone loves feeling special being chosen to be a "tester" and thats why i beleive they arent going to give the straight facts. It just seems a very rushed affair that shouldnt be as its a wate of time ... and money. Which im sure by now is becoming a major issue and maybe recouping the losses is why the pads are being released so early? Ive been running plazmatic pads now all summer.. and can honestly say its going to take something very special to steer me away, An interesting read in to how their testing evolved: http://www.plazmaticbrakes.com/history.php

To be fair... most aluminium circles dropping 10 foot with 11 stone of rider are gonna want to die
-
Maybe flat spotted so easy because the sidewalls are thin from grinding? Im turning in to a right harsh rider.. if it isnt a harsh landing then i havent made the gap.. but im just under 10 stone so could be why nowts going wrong with my hog.

Not wanting to sound too harsh, i know its all a natural disaster etc and its sad to see people losing homes and lives. But to be honest... there are hurricanes every year that hit the carribean it was only a matter of time before one made it all the way up the gulf. To get my point across... everyone is bitching about how they didnt see it coming.. when blatantly they did. Its like living in tornado alley and not expecting to see a tornado.. ever. Then getting shitty because their home was wiped out by a tornado.

coustellier rough cut - always makes me want to go ride natural AndrewT vincent and also the one he made when he hadnt been riding for 6 months.. cracks me up every time when he says " big girl.. biiig girl.. pull it up" something along those lines. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA f**kin quality.. the riding was interesting too :P the coustellier nottingham vid by sir read - first time i had ever watched pro riders with stupid natural talent trials kings toxicity.. still quite scarey how most of the shit they do.. over half of us still cant. Also.. all the trials kings vids were short.. but somehow they lasted ages when you watched.

Slightly off topic but today i was watching abc1 on free view... and theres a program called like.. simple life or something i forget.. anyway ill check some time on the name but the woman who is a main character MUST be the woman that does the voice for the one eyed girl on futurama. Not that anyone cares.. but i heard her and thought futurama was on for a second..

No offence to anyone here, but in 99% of cases.. kool stops are wank and you need to think about what a good brake is to you. Its not going to be the same for everyone.

Grind now too i beleive

I'd send it back to hope, atleast you know it will come back in good form than taking it apart yourself buggering about and not knowing if its going to be alright.

I beleive it has something to do with the fact that none of these so called famous companys are willing to take a leap in to the year 2005 and update any of their geometry. People dont want to ride bikes that feel like shit and to be honest... every steel frame i have touched.. felt like shit. I bought a toxsin because it was cheap for what is it. You wont find any steel frames for the same price that ride so nice. Its all down to personal preference though i expect. There will always be the divide, but just because a new aluminium frame has been released doesnt mean the steel jizz crew has to come along and slate it.. afterall.. what do they know about "long low and silver" their last alu frame was probably a koxx levelboss... things have changed a lot. Oh yea and about the brazing thing... it is loads harder than arc welding/mig welding when you start out (not as easy to just pick up and go) and it has to be one of the most time consuming things ever (think waiting for a leeson).. my dt project for a level was all brazed and it drove me f**king nuts.

Should be fine, if they stick out too far you should be able to file them down or cut them?

oh the memories, my first pc was a 486, 3mb ram (upgraded to 11.. yes they did 8mb sticks back in the day), 50mhz processor, 112 mb hard drive. I used to play red alert and command and conquer on that beast. Get yours working!
