  1. yeap with some nice bodging i pulled the wheel back as far as was needed to tension chain, then grinded, filed and drilled out the 4 bolt mounts so the cylinders could slide down further to hit the rim. As you can see its still not perfect but it works for now. I ordered a half link chain so i have no excuse for never having a half link again ever lol. My chainline is awesome.. too awesome infact since the chain now rubs against the bashplate. The front god has been space out using two casette rings which i filed the inside out a few mm with a round file, slotted on perfect and work a treat. So instead of risking a dodgy chainline im gonna grind down the side of the bash plate a little bit.
  2. week after i did it... still f**ked
  3. the wheels look like 28" lol. Looks nice though
  4. Building a front mod wheel up and getting all the way through till you do the cross over lacing bit.. and realised the spokes were too short by like 5mm.. debuilt it.. rebuilt it did that same again 3 more times.. then tarty told me the spokes were for 2 cross and not 3 cross... f**k lol
  5. I remember this being suggested on a downhill forum and was quickly thrown out the window with a string of problems suggested. Two of the simplest were: Brake freezing in winter.. do you really want a front disc doing that? i could hack a rear brake doing it whilst i was going down a hill but not a front disc. Water getting heated up due to heat from rotor etc.
  6. moves to front are about as easy as sidehopping.... so yea piss, the 180 rotor is a f**kin beast as welll i learnt to track stand yesterday morning so nerrrrrrrrr im gonna release a 8 min video of me doing it to prove i can do something ben.. u big fat nugget. Dont get angry because i can pump a tyre up quicker than you can --><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(joe b @ Apr 17 2006, 11:00 AM) ←</div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec--> Looks really nice; nice and simple frame design! Cheers, Joe.

  9. awwww ben.. go ride your early learning crayola bike
  10. Rides sexy as fewk so light on the back wheel its unreal and a doddle to sidehop on I would recommend for sure
  11. KHE for sure is as good as it gets at the moment. But not required if your a light rider, its pretty much over kill for 90% of people. But then again its your own safety you have to think about.
  12. These website will help get you started on everything you will need to know: http://biketrials.com/ - tells you what trials is, how to set up a basic bike etc and some good info on the types of moves involved http://www.trashzen.com/ - great site for moves when your starting out good luck with the riding

    Live On!

stock :-p nah.. old skool looks right fun to ride
  14. Unsure at the moment as to whether its my bleed or indeed flex. Its definitely rideable as it is but i like a solid as stone feel to the brake when it hits. Im tempted to put some of the spongeyness down to the pads. The plazmatics have really been a let down this time round. I dont know whether the compound has been changed but those buggers have worn a shed load in one ride compared to my previous 3 sets.
  15. Yay! so titanium will be awesome when i live in the sea at 400 degress next to a giant magnet! i cant wait the extra weight will help me stay under the seaaaaa under the seaa... i love little mermaid.
  16. For the price.. its a absalute bargain
  17. Simple. Oh yea took the pic with the bars spun round so have a nice brake hose wrap effect going on. Dice dust caps.. cos im a baller...

    Mod Trouble.

[attachmentid=3872] Thats the when i moved the whole wheel back and pushed the mounts in to the available space hardly needed to move at all just a bolt thickness, had plenty of room left over too as you can see. Great bodge in my opinion and gave me more than enough room

Profile and front surley cog.. just bought it too. To be honest the job ive done witht he brake mounts has not comprimised the safety one bit a bolts a bolt and braking forse will be mostly outwards. It didnt cause a problem all day so im happy at the mo, the proper mounts will go on when the half link arrives

19 13 I went riding today, managed to grind, drill and file the 4 bolt mounts so the cylinders could move down lower. Then during ride we bodged some spacers ( the silver rings off some v8's) so that the chain tugs would pull the wheel in to tension. Only prob at the mo is my chainline is too straight and chain is hitting the bash plate. So some more grinding will be happening soon. Ordered a half link chain.. so i never ever run out of half links ever again.

it comes out too loose i think in the end its gonna come down to slightly looser chain and the modified mounts.. i pointed the pads down and only abour 3/4 touch.. im not rinsing new pads on that..

yup it would be hella nice. Everyone says how all stocks should have horizontal drop outs and shit.. to be honest.. id stick vertical drop outs on this mod anyday of the week .. never had any trouble before.

im riding tmrw so i cant order owt, ill take a look at this tensioner thing and im gonna try and file the brake mounts tmrw anyone got a link to the tensioner?
  24. Copied from angry thread cos i need ideas now: I have a dillema. New frame, echo lite and my gay gearing do not go together with the chain. When chain is tight the rear wheel is nearly out the dropouts (i dont really mind just tighten it up loads more) BUT.. the brake cylinders cant move down on the mounts far enough to hit the rim. If i push the wheel all the way in, the chain requires a half link.. since if i take a link out its too tight to put back together again. So heres my possible solutions: A. Go to halfords tmrw morning and try and source a half link. Remember this is halfords so chances of this happeneing are 0 B. File down the holes in the brake mounts so that they can slide down a little further (no idea if this will work yet) C. Grind the horizontal drop outs 5mm (maybe not even that) deeper on both sides so that i can then take a link out and everything will be dandy + go buy a half link when i can be arsed. D. Pray somone brings a half link to the ride in portsmouth tmrw.. (chances also too slim) Opinions people?
