Quick question for mike. Would it be possible to leave old pads in, hacksaw flush with the backing so you have a flat surface which you could superglue the new material on to. I know superglue works stupidly well when you have two flat surfaces, just wondering whether this would hold up. When you pull the brake the whole pad (unless you're a fool and cant set them up properly) will hit the rim so shouldnt pull apart. Although i spose it is a shearing movement which could cause it to literally slide off.

What i want to know is if the warnings come when you download heavy in one day or over a long time? i know for a fact that our 2nd email only came cos of the dickhead housemate using bit torrent all day long. Hes away for a few days now though luckily. Also i wonder if your warnings ever go away .. and whether you can be taken off the slower connection and put back on your normal connection if you are good?

Rinsing the full connection 24/7 and we had a nice email(Extract not the full thing): You may upload and download as you wish outside the peak hours; however we ask that you are considerate when using the internet during the peak period. Peak hours are from 6pm to 11pm Monday to Sunday. To avoid any further heavy use warnings we strongly recommend you adhere to the following guidelines: o) Do not download large files during the peak periods o) Do not use Peer-to-Peer file sharing software during peak periods (e.g. Kazaa, BitTorrent) o) Try and keep internet use to email and web browsing during these times. If you do not reduce your usage during these peak times we will manage your usage. This means that you will share bandwidth with other heavy users during peak times instead of sharing bandwidth with normal users. Your service will continue to be unlimited, but by sharing bandwidth with other heavy users you are likely to experience slower speeds during peak times. Id switch from BT if i was you and definitely go for a unlimited deal. Theres a pile of companys around that are doing it, there is literally no need to go with people who have usage limits and most are cheaper than BT anyway.

Personally i would never argue with the service that steve provides. His pads have become a quality that is to be envied by other pad producers. Great customer care has become part of the whole deal, if your pads are late you can always expect to have a freebie to come with them because thats the type of guy steve is. I know for a fact he has definitely won a few hearts on this forum for his fast turn around when producing and sending off the pads, but lets face it everyone is entitled to a break. When you have family etc you have to get your priorities straight.

Yea theres shit loads of stuff thats kept secret till it happens. No point at all.. this is a community of like what.. 10 thousand at most? even if all of us knew.. no one else would give a shit. For me it was because on my horizontal drop outs, the wheel all the way in would mean the brakes could be set up, however the chain would always be too slack. As in taking an extra link out the chain would be too tight to put together (half a links distance out). But if i pulled the wheel out to take up this slack if i hadnt have taken a link out then the brakes werent able to be set up, the cylinders would point downwards causing shit pad wear. So a half link chain just means you can adjust it that half distance.
