The whole point to chit chat, is topics like the ones you listed, its a different flavour and i love the fact that when you come onto chit chat, you'll see a bunch of random threads like the 'how long can you hold your breath for?' and any happy birthday threads. This thread will probably die out when everybody has voiced their opinion of this thread and then you'll have to try again.

An electric kit would be more practical but theres just something about acoustic kits that i love. And theres the price...i'm sure electric kits are more expensive? even second hand

Cheers guys, i'll probably just buy the set of pads it sounds like the easiest solution. couple more weeks and i should have my drum kit Anyone got any advice on what i should get for my first drum kit because i really don't have much of a clue. EDIT: The guy that said he was gonna lend/sell me his has backed out now.

Been playing the guitar on and off for a while, and the other day i had a go of my friends drum kit and i found it way more fun than playing guitar, maybe its because its something different, or whatever but anyway i wanna give it a shot. The only problem is the amount of noise an acoustic kit makes, is there any sort of skins i could get so it wouldn't be so loud or something? i could get an electric kit but i know someone who is selling an acoustic kit on the cheap so i want that. Anybody have any ideas?

Thats a good idea actually! (the second one i mean) I did a very similar thing back when i was in school, me and a friend worked at a warehouse that sold sweets and stuff to shops, we just used to clean up the back by the compactor and tidy up the pallets and stuff, and they used to pay us in sweets, and i mean they could give us alot every time we cleaned up for them. We never ate any, just took them into school and sold them. The best i did in a day was £60 selling a big ass sack of dolly beads (back when they were a trend some idiots would pay up to £2 for one necklace lol.)

My hand went completely numb and my knuckles were half way up my hand rather than in the proper place, it swelled up like a bitch too. So if you have any of that, i'd go to the hospital and get them snapped back in place, or if its bad enough surgery. Note: I didn't do my hand in over a girl.

Think of it as a first guitar, i don't mind splashing out a little. I have a friend who's a drummer, he can play every single blink 182 song, that Travis drums in. He somewhat idolises Travis Barker.
