It's how you find it easiest, if you learn to goto two wheels you wont necesarrily go higher, infact youl'll probably not be able to go as high at first because instead of technique its all power. I used to goto front but then i switched and it took me aaaaages to get the height back. Just be persistent if you want to learn and instead of concentrating on the front of the bike work on the middle, when you get your height shove you legs out ill put a pic if i can find a decent one after the post. Biffs is a decent example actually from the sidehop side. Infact readin thoroughly owd biffs hit the nail on the head, stall etc. Dave i usde to smack my fingers too when i went to front last year thats the main reason i changed, it did take a while to stop you finger i found goin slanted helped alot but stil you have to go distance so you loose height, its all about rpactise it will definately take a while for you to get it if you want to learn. Found a decent un Good pic to show what rossi means. Another good way to learn is to sidehop over stuff, Cause you have to bring all the bike over you cant use the front wheel to bring it up.
