what the hell is vista?

I think its the motherboard/processer as a friend gave them to me! His pc was crashing a bit and he got a new ones and it works now - I was skint at the time and just needed something to use! The hard drive is pretty haggered too, so could actually be that! Kinda thinking that it might just be worth replacing the whole lot and starting again. The graphics card (GeForce thingy) is only a few months old, so sure it ain't that and i might try a monitor we have lying about just to check, but 99% sure its ok

eddie izzard line doesn't bother me, but what does annoy me is people who make a big deal about having gay friends. There is this woman at work who always makes a big deal about the fact she has gay friends, its actually funny. She say stuff like 'i went to brighton to visit a gay friend of mine.' jeez grow up i give a shit about how hip and funky you think you are for having gay friends. I don't say stuff like 'i went to the pub with a black/left handed/ginger friend of mine.

i have run both the swampthing and highroller and imo the swampthings feels way better and out of the two I would run that. At the moment I am running a holyroller which is awesome but I am going to look into the arrow launch tires again for winter.

JT is right, different disciplines do blend together. I watched ‘Shook: it’s on’ (bmx vid, check the little wheels thread for a download link, its awesome) yesterday and some of the lines on it were just as much trials lines as they were bmx lines. For example a bunnyhop to rail ride down a double kinked rail – which is … Trials in my mind has never just been about that, it has also been about bike control too and the more ways you move your bike around and put it in different situations the better rider you will be. its all good!! I remember riding shipley glen with you when you had just got leeson maybe that was it.

you have big testicles I will give you that ... hahaha those drop gaps where silly! But at the same time I found it a bit repetative and didn't think the music worked with it. The hook on the rail was cool though

the indoor pitches were fun, thats something I would like to see in PES. I always preferred the first fifa, Ivory Coast are ace in that one. 95 was funny with the random bouncy ball cheat and invisable walls

Anyone remember that program on bbc2, can't remember the name but it lasted 15 mins and half was trials and the other kajaking! That was ace, it had Tongue Bro's riding Stratford and some stuff from a comp and had interviews with both Ashton and Hawzeeeeeee! Also Chris Akrigg riding some rocks and trying to bunnyhopping up something for ages, he eventually nailed it. good program

You can’t go wrong with any of the following rims and they are all fairly similar too Tioga DH Ryhno Lite XL Alex DM24 I use the Holyroller because it’s a bit bigger than the comp x, which is a bit better for trialsy stuff (and it perfectly fine for natty, except in mega wet or muddy conditions).

On the surface my bike looks nice, pretty well colour coordinated and bike! But Generally my bike is pretty dodge as long as it works really! my rear brake is held together with copper wire and my front brake lever is held together witha zip tie and the caliper is actually a a deore/sd7 combo! Bits are rusting and the seat is taped up! Generally something is wrong with my bike, but I do like that 'worn in' feel! [attachmentid=7326] As long as the grips and pedals are sorted, I will pretty much anything... ...which I did [attachmentid=7327]

dammit, if I knew you were going to do something like that, I wouldn't have sold it and done it myself! great work, i wanna go on it
-
One thing I forgot to add! A shop selling drinks and food would be good, maybe provide a microwave too! Also a small bike shop, with tools and most things that you would/could repair on a ride – brake bits, bars, cable, spokes, disk rotors, bolts and bits. Possible even in conjunction with another bike shop!

Maybe £3 for a couple of hours and then £7 - £10 for all day! Would you pay membership to it? I know the works skatepark in Leeds is £20 for a year and then a few quid for when you go in, I think this helps with insurance! The trials park would have to offer a wide varity of things to ride so it doesn’t get boring (maybe it could be possible for some of the object to be moveable, probably just by staff though) so then it could be kinda changed round a every month or so! Also if it could offer something unique to ride on, maybe something north shore – eqse but more trialsy! See Kranked 6 I think, with Ryan Leechs north shore trail.

Your Views On Terrorism And Modern Day Britain?
Brian Bleech replied to Mr Plod's topic in Chit Chat
still better than a tory government … Everybody acts like terrorism is a new thing for Britain, but we have had been dealing with the IRA for many years, I still remember the Manchester and London bombings being on the news, hell when I was younger I remember being woken up by a bomb going off during one night. The Birtish intelligence services will stop countless attempted bombings each year. But the USA (and Bush) had never really dealt with it before and they were right to go into Afganistan and try to find Bin Laden, I actually think we were right to stand by them at that time… That said I also think the War in Iraq is bullshit and we shouldn’t have supported that! Using the Armed Forces and effectively turning britain into a police state is just a very very bad idea. -

MBUK (and along with Martyn & Martin) has done so much for trials in terms of promotion, like chris said MBUK used to be 25% full of trials articles and some of these articles used to feature DH/xc riders along with the trials riders - the dambusters article being one that sticks out in my memory! There always used to be articles on trials riders using there bikes to ride over seamingly impossble objects, the tongues on a canal/canal boat and rich johnston on a tank! People can relate to a these objects, tanks are f**king scary big machine and to ride a bike on one its nuts But times change and trials isn't as popular with the general MTB-ing public as it used to be and MBUK has to stay current to sell its magazines and at the moment its slopestyle stuff. Everyone that helps get trials into MBUK deserves a pint or two for there efforts in my book. Maybe trials just needs something/someone just to recapture the imagination of the general mtb public again, like the mart(y)(i)ns and a few others did! I always thought a decent well edited 5min video (maybe by Nick Goddard or Jonny Jones) to go on one of these free dvds would go down well! oh, one thing about this month. It made me grin that in the 'dirt' section there is a small column about some drit bowl jam and most of it talking about a trials rider (akrigg) and the only picture is of him...
