  3. I never thought I would be bothered about people smoking in pubs/clubs, until I went out in edinburgh (it's already banned) and it literally was a breath of fresh air to go places with no smoke and to wake up and not stink (of smoke anyway) was awesome.
  4. Very odd looking and I think looks silly! I am all for function over fashion, but you can take it too far. I wouldn't ride it, but would be interested to hear what strength advantages its meant to offer. Not got much else to other than... ....i like brown rims
  5. coke cans, gaffa tape and wd40 is all you need in your toolbox
  6. --> QUOTE(joe b @ Mar 12 2007, 09:41 PM) ←Loved that, Mike. Proper just normal riding - looked like good fun, all of it ... Mint songs and mint editing ! Cheers, Joe. thanks dudes - we wouldn't ride if it wasn't fun
  7. If you try wrapping the coke can round the axle it is impossible to get the cranks on, much easier to do it this way. stopped mine wobbling

  11. Made this video out of unused footage I had on my PC so I could delete it raw footage from my harddrive. Thought it was going to be about 3mins long, but ended up 8mins. Didn't really edit it too well, but meh... http://tv.isg.si/site/?q=filebrowser/judders << damnation scraps.mpg
  12. sounds like it could be the hard drive. I replaced mine myself - bought a 15gb hardrive because it was way cheaper than 20gb and it was easy to fix and get work properly. then the clickwheel went and i haven't bothered fixing it yet. i think i will do though....
  13. totally agree, I have gapped to a barbed wire fence before and ridden along something about just under 1cm wide
  14. I have one in my parents garage in a box, no idea if it still works, going to have dig it out when I go home

  16. Daley Thompson Decathlon's helped me get some practise in for when I went to bed
  17. QUOTE(Bill_B @ Mar 8 2007, 11:58 AM) ←The Monty frame cost me a whole £10 (had £50 but-it-now and £15 postage), I put in minimum bid and it was local, that is all it made so I don't feel too bad about it not being suitable. it was frame, forks, headset and stem. Mike: Considering I'm not really looking at getting into trials proper, just something to 'play' on, is a £500 outlay, even just in bits necessary? where would say £250 get me (waits for the response 'a decent pair of wheels')? Eskimo: 1) you say if it feels good, well it doesn't feel anything, I just have the frame (not even collected that yet) I have never had a trials bike of been on one, closest I have been is my BMX in the 80s and a montessa trials motorbike I had 12-14yrs ago. I'm totally new to all this, a trial virgin I bought the monty frame on a whim, it was local cheap and Monty appeared to be a 'good' make. 2) Is short going to cripple my back though? I'm 6'4" and not of slight build (I know where the pie shop is ) 3) I still need a lot of stuff to complete my setup though, I'm wondering if its worth continuing or there is a beter way to go. 4) I don't want to invest more than I need to for starters, its a hobby I can build on, at the moment I see trials as a small bike to play on and learn balance and manovering skills in the back garden etc. thanks for your input guys, I am listening. The shortness will be fine. You could always get a different stem. £250 will be able to get you enough decent kit to finish your build. Looks on For Sale/Wanted section on here the vee brake will do just great try http://www.heatsinkbikes.com or http://www.tartybikes.co.uk for pads and buy some decent cable odyssey linear slic from bmx shops is great
  18. You could try and get some long planet x knifen forks or similar will be the same lengthish as dmr ones but not as heavy. A 22T and a cassette will be fine for commuting, unless it absolute miles and miles. You could always try a vee brake on the back...
