Actually while we are kinda on the subject has anyone seen the Mosh Bikes wood effect components? It was in RIDE a month ago. They are awesome

You say its not about the colour co-ordiation - hence your point about most bmx's. But look through RIDE/DIG and yes a lot of bmxers have scruffy colour un-coordiated bikes (as it is fashion), but the components they have one the bikes will probably be the bmx evquivalent of having chris king front hub's etc. Ti is becoming popular in bmx: spokes, hubs + other bits - but a steel/alu equivalent will often do the job as well/if not better. But yeah trials riders seem to like shinier bikes and bmxer's often like the not duller but matt bike. But yeah its best to get your bike working and I find get a frame a colour you like and then stick to black or silver components...piece of piss. I get bored of how my bike looks after about a few week and then I want to personalise it. Mike EDIT: So this dvd is pretty good then?

I found sidehops easier with no front brake, because i go up to front wheel and it forces me to flick my back end up quicker. Also speaking to Rossi ages ago he said his sidehops improved tons we he was front brakeless. I think no front brake help to learn to use your body weight more, instead of relying on your brake. The knifens are pretty heavy, if you go for them get the 'knifen superlights' while not being superlight, they drop a fair bit of weight off the standard knifens - not sure of the weight (I think its around 1200kg - but don't quote me)! As for the front tire the knifens (and all the forks Dave mentioned) will be able to fit a wide enough tire in it. Something between 2.1 - 2.35 is pretty good. Mike

As it had already been said, confidence, technique and power are probably the three most important things in trials. I was talking to a friend about plyometric exercises as he used to play basketball and he showed me a few basic exercises. I am going to give them a shot to see what happens :blink: Mike

IMO, no front wheel (and hopping over someone lying on the ground) makes trials looks like a cheesy circus act, not an sport! Trials has suffered from not being taken seriouly by other forms of cycling and its probably because cheesy crappy stuff like that! Trials as a sport has come on so far in the last 6 years or so and the level of riding has increased greatly and I think demo's should have the crowd going 'holy crap he can't get up that' or 'bloody hell did you see him jump between those walls, that was mad' At the bikeshow, Ot Pi and Canas just annoyed me with there crappy showmanship panto crap, when they could have been doing the crazy huge rding we all know they are capable of. but if we really want to discuss/argue about this we should create a new topic and not take over this one. they have obviously not changed much, porbably just tweeked it here and there! To me it looks like it has a fat arse, the front end looks really slim/thin/small while the back look huge! IMO, the older marc cassio is the nicest frame koxx have done. any ideas on the geo? Mike

Is the Hans Rey frame designed for a long travel fork? or maybe more of a mid travel fork. The suspension adjusted rigid fork like the Planet X Superlight 420mm fork would work well! and Answer Pro Taper = Easton EA70 mike

Pashley Forks - steel, strong, light(ish) - i think curtis forks would look got with the hans rey frame too mike

we call it: replace - front wheel on top of an object and then up to backwheel wheelswap - gap/up to front wheel and then switch to backwheel (ala CLS/Tunni of rails)
