    Fears

Confidence is a b*****d - i went out a week or or a ago and it was raining slightly and found this gap. Not very high, but a decent gap. Now my back brake wasn't working great but i was thinking 'i could do this, nah i will wait till its dry' so i started messing about on the wall and came to the conclusion it was grippy as f**k. So I thought this gap is maybe on, had a few blasts at it, but i was holding back still. so i thought 'f**k it's a shit little wall' and gave it some beef, didn't quite make it, but came closer. so i literally looked at the wall and said out loud 'your a shitty little b*****d wall and your not f**king beating you piece of crap' no-one was around or they might have thought i was a mentalist :- but made it across and did it over and over again a few times and was nailing it 90% of the time. yeah that happens too me a lot, i was really struggling with this sidehop last night. Couldn't commit to it at all, but i made a couple of bunnyhops easily and was riding these wooden balance beams (it had just rained last night and last time i tried them they where dry as a bone) in a playground that i was struggling with last time :P things don't make sense. At leeds uni, there are these 6 bollards, and i just can't get them (i have done better and longer bollard sections) but in my head everytime i come up to them its 'these bloody bollards, i never gonna get these'. So in my head I haven't made them, even though i haven't tried them yet. mike
  9. tell james to bring his camera! so we riding glen tonight then timothy? see you there, since you were too pussy to ride last night.
  10. yeah ten million tools, but no puncture repair kit and dodgy wilko's tube....tehehe and who uses the tools, not me. Its always someone else!! but yeah my tool kit needs slimming down
  11. can't find the weight for the 24" swampthing, but the 26" version is 1180g which is 70g lighter than the 26" highroller, so you are probably looking at 1100g(ish) for the 24". My highroller is has been going for around 9 weeks, I think i could probably be getting around 3-4 months out of it. but I do ride places on it, because i am a loser who can't drive. Mike
  12. I have always thought the maxxis was quite thinnish my 2.5 isn't any bigger than a 2.35 moto digger! Not sure where else you try - I know halford can order them in. Oh...actually Tim (Dr Evil on here) mentioned something about them having a 24" swampthing (i hink) in stock at the one he works at, It was a month ago though. You could try a Intense tires, a bit more $$££$$ though - I ran 2.35 FRO DH - it lasted a long time and grip is awesome I was running it bald in the wet and got it down to 8psi with no puncture (didn't bother going lower) and I was running a halfords tube. The tire has 6ply casing - makes maxxis look thin, I had too run it at about 5psi less to get the same feel as my IRC kujo (which could be another option, should last you ok in the summer and with a DH tube) hope thats some help mike
  13. sunny you bastards...i am at work (Y)
  14. really? I don't care if you like manifesto or not but I don't think he is particulary harsh though. I used too back in the evolve days and I always thought he had a loud bike too, you could always here the chain clatter and stuff, because he used to run a double chainring setup and need a slacker chain.
  15. http://www.ryanleech.com - awesome rider and a cool guy too (Y) Who would win a fight between Ryan Leech and God? Mike
  16. the trailer got me in the mood for riding big time - before we watched it me and tim (drevil) were 'nah can't be bothered riding tomorrow its gonna rain' and after it was 'so we riding tomorrow then, no matter what the weather' :D any trailer that can do that is awesome :o and the dvd well, its probably gonna be like when i got evolve (got 20 mins into that before i HAD to go riding (Y) ) but yeah good work... mike
  17. decent video dude! (Y) looks like i missed a good ride :D I could have shown you all how to tap :o mike
  18. lol go fully brakeless as well, thats fun too. (Y) :D
  19. I agree I prefer the cleaner lines of a 'more traditional' shaped bike over the fancy ass GU, XTP, etc stuff. Yeah my 24" looks quite bmxy too :">
  20. Some cool pics there - the front touch one is awesome as it the 180 endo? Where abouts in the lake district is it? Mike
