  1. thats the thing that jumped out to, the rest of the bike seems absolutly fine, especially for a noob. - good avid vees are way better than the cheap shit vee that most starter bikes have. - nice close range roadie cassette, with a short cage mech - trutative cranks, with a 22T - alot of cheap bikes come with 32/22 combo - decent rims and tires - and things like 31.8 bar and cromo lower headset cup, show they have tried to make it strong too. unfortunately the chainstay length ruins what would be a great starter bike >_<
  2. Word Up! I have making the move to magura on the rear (Y) and i am using the evo mount two (thanks rossi (Y) ) system and only have a few bits and bobs. To start with I am f**king the quick release system off, so i am just using my shimano carbon booster. what i want to know, is what size bolts do i need for the top mounts. Is there anything special about them or can I just use a nut and bolt? :( cheers mike
  3. hahaha that was awesome - that music was stupid (Y) some great lines though and random moves (Y)
  4. wow - that is one nice bike (Y) good work meh...you can only get better (Y) :(
  5. was thinking about this at work this morning as was going to make a very similar points - it has been said that its a 24" for the long and low crew, but 1040 isn't that long really, as Steve said there are a few 1040 leesons about, the ashtons where 1030. The thing is the onza could easily have quite a slack headangle (like the big boys trex (Y) ) and this will end up the bike feeling quite short anyway. It was also said earlier that the first lot of 24" frames where just short jump bikes, I disagree with this. To me they are 24" trials bikes, the geo lends itself well the trials, no worse than a px zebdi or other short stock bike. Does the seat make it a jump frame? If fact when I first got my leeson, people where shocked how good and easy it felt on the back wheel. but to me and i am going to agree with steve here, low 24" frame would be better in something like a 1060 wb, with a maybe 71 degree head angle! Go the whole hog and maybe keep the shorter wheelbase - 1000-1040ish with a traditonal frame with seat and a 73/74 headangle would work better.
  6. you deserve loads of respect for doing all that on a shitbull :D :) :) t'was a good vid, liked the intro bit of you falling off and stuff, showed you were pushing yourself. Mike
  7. £751+ Can't give an exact cost though
  8. your sick dude....carrot cake!!! happy birthday you drunken fool! mike
  9. thats sad news, i can't really say anything that hasn't been said already. remember the good times R.I.P mike
  10. hey tom I will ride on saturday :( I have to sort some stuff out for my holidays and its my mates birthday on friday, so I will be out sometime, depending hangover and when I get stuff done. I will add you to msn and get you phone number, because i don't seem to have it? mike
  11. 24" are fine for natural! Its like any trials bike really, you get used to it and exploit its strengths. I find when I ride mine on natty the high front high and short wheel base, make it really flicky and got for hopping around and also i find my bike great for roll down :( (which are loadsa fun). Its just different really...why limit yourself to street :ermm:
  12. hell, it looks a hell of a lot better than a lot of budget bike. Univega used to be a decent brand (I hope it still is !!! ) I started out on a univega frame back in the day, it rocked had a 1" steerer tube :ermm:
  13. Bar wise - I would go with riser bars, quite a few people can't use the flat style because they are painful/uncomfortable. You might find flat bars fine or you might not, but go for some decent risers (onza, pazzaz, tryall, etc) and they won't be painful, unless you have really crap wrist!
  14. i have been looking for them too - with no luck :P have the dust junkys (got the album :) ) and thats about it. what i realy want is the music off chainspotting mike
  15. but didn't we know that already? :( basically Mr Bush doesn't give two hoots about the poorer people in america and in the inner city areas, these are mostly non-white (and mainly black) and thus Mr West concludes 'Bush Hates Blacks' ... I think the fundraiser was the wrong time too, make the comments he did. It was meant to be a positive event trying help people out. Not somewhere to throw blame around. Plus his comments may have lost them money from bush supporters too. Mike
  16. A lot of them had no-where to go? Generations of families living in the same place. They would rather risk staying where they live, instead of going somewhere with no money, food or shelter..
  17. er...not too sure what your point is! I was merely trying to make the point that Mr West is a bit of a nutbar (Y)
  18. kanye west is a complete nutbar anyway - when he lost at the mtv music awards to some band (i dunno who) - he said that his music was the only music that comes from the heart (Y) and my mate said he has also said somethng about AIDS being introduced into the poorer areas of america, to off all the blacks!!! anyway - the american government did cock this right up, they could have (and should have) evacuated the poorer areas of new orleans. They still have evacuation plans (for every major city) from the cold war era too mike
  19. yeah i can't believe they were £15 (Y) i can't be f**ked to start swapping rims around (Y) too lazy...
  20. yeah i was looking at the BMF or maybe even the LMF. Off on my hols for two weeks though, next week. so will see when I get back. maybe onza ones will be out then. i should have got two of those Odyessy rims at the bike show (Y) or three or four mike
  21. was talking about it last night with young tim here (Y) and I agree, it could work really well, for doing spinny street, bunny hoppy, manually stuff. But the really low frame, will allow for major tuckage on sidehops and gaps. maybe it will allow for it too be rode like an ashton for some moves and a phython for others... like crossing Tim Pratt with CLS!! (Y) mike
  22. I am finding bunny hop tapping easier with my higher bars too (Y) just pedal medium/fast pace, small bunny hop and when your front wheel hits , just try to bunnyhop again (Y) I don't think my headset/forks are liking it too much though :P odd noise's coming from there last night and i wasn't even doing any.. Its like when i do gap up to front wheel, I just think off them and static bunnyhops to front wheel, because thats all they are really. (Y)
  23. 'My lifestyle determines my deathstyle Keep searching, keep on searching This search goes on, this search goes on Frantic tick tick tick tick tick tick tock Frantic tick tick tick tick tick tick tock' 'Frantic' - Metallica 'I'm madly in anger with you' 'St Anger' - Metallica 'Protector Rejector Infector Projector Rejector Infector Injector Defector Rejector' 'Dirty Window' - Metallica 'Invisible kid Never see what he did Got stuck where he hid Fallen through the grid Invisible kid Got a place of his own Where he'll neber be known Inward he's grown Invisible kid Locked away in his brain From the shame and the pain World down the drain Invisible kid Suspicious of your touch Don't want no crutch But it's all too much' 'Invisable Kid' - Metallica An awful, awful album...
  24. After the roadtrip I put a extra 5mm of spacers under my stem and cut my bars down to just under 26" and has really affected the way my bike rides. I can bunny better just generally, height and length. It has made gaps and sidehops harder, but I am going bigger, so unsure how that works. Manuals better too and is more flicky! Plus the shorter bars help loads with random x-up and barspins tricks. Pretty much prefect for the way I ride (Y) mike
  25. ok i will rephrase it... ooohhh 24" ronnie/reggie, thats a good idea. You should release them soon i bet they would sell well. :D
