  1. Thats true, but it means you need a stretch of freewheeling i.e. rolling down a hill, rolling up to something which in trials you tend not to get chance to do I thought the main reason was as mark said 18t freewheels being the abundance and allowing smaller gearing. This also gives better clearance on underneath the BB so as you dont catch it. In terms of drive, theres not really any DISADVANTAGE to have a 18t freewheel on the wheel and a 22t? cog on the front. Just means you'll need a bigger bashring too, and more chain

I cant wait for this now! Im sorry to say though, Im expecting piss poor weather so get your waterproofs!
  3. Godlike doesn't half describe it You beast danny! Awesomely slick style and big tricks. OLD SCHOOL KOOL!
  4. sorry but what the hell kind of experiance have you had with profiles? not shiny enough? I had one that lasted 2 years not one skip. Replaced the driver bearings once and that was it, how is that "shit quality"? Fair enough try new things and all that, but for the time and money spent would it have been cheaper to buy a profile? Im not the only one who can sing praise for profile... best mod hub out there with exception to a king...
  5. got it! thanks for the help + wayne. A combination of ordnance survey + multimap's birds eye view and I can make out the tramway

  8. Barbara, how do I get from Shipley railway station to the trial? the aa route planner says I have to go all the way round, but is there a shortcut straight across?
  9. I wish they'd make series 9 instead of a couple of random episodes Still, Ill be watching
  10. lol you might have a point....but the old T-lite I had took a 19" and fitted fine
  11. Sorry to slate onza, but wtf... Ive just bought a new wheel build, along with a new (old) T-lite frame as my current T-lite frame has cracked in 3 places (BTW im not slating that before anyone starts). Built the wheel, put it in, put the chain on (the new frame had slightly longer stays than the one I was using so had to slacking my chain tugs a bit) FINALLY went to put my brake on, and "oh" struck me... The brake mounts have been brazed on way too high! Like I need a 19.5" rim for it to work right! Now i mean off angle tubing here and there and id never complain, but something as important as that really pisses me off! Mostly as I've just wasted the last 3 hours trying to figure out some way I can get around the problem, but no combination of chain length, tensioner adjustment, or pad angle will let me ride The wheel is right up against the end of the dropouts and its still about 7mm too small. If I take he tensioner out its about 2mm to short, but the chain goes really slack. I cant get somwhere in the middle because the chain tug bolts aren't long enough. so if anyone has a nice cheap short frame for sale (as in under £50) please let me know. In the mean time, Im bikeless even though I have two frames sat in my room Other than that if anyone can suggest any other methods not listed here, feel free to post away.

  14. how the hell is that plane stationary?! Even the cameraman moves to keep up with it, that doesnt prove it at all. The conveyor belt is supposed to match the planes speed... bah i hate this debate
  15. ok thanks So nick, why are you up so late?
  16. aww i hope this wasn't provoked from my post in the other thread...I thought it was ok? or was 10 minutes too early? bah. I love crisps.
  17. who cares, we're not going to evolve overnight anyway unless removal of limbs counts as evolution. Anyway just back in from night in the student pub about an hour's walk away meeting the freshers. On the way back, I obtained: A traffic cone (usual) A basket/crate from spar a broken climbing harness a pair of glasses a door mat Hopefully as uni progresses I will enlarge this collection, and keep updating this thread if I do
  18. not 100% sure what this thread is about but:
  19. Seriously, the ony problem is your weight isn't forward enough - I.E. You're not vertical enough! Make sure you endo and push your bum backwards towards the rear end before you start hopping, but other than that its just being more vertical. Its scary to get used as you dont fully know where the point of no return is, but you got to keep practicing getting it higher and higher.
  20. Anyone available to give me a lift from Leeds by any chance?
  21. How these people destroy rotors from riding dual disc.... You're probably more likely to hit the front rotor than the back. I've hit mine (after running it for a year) about...3 times? and that was because I went perfectly horizontal and compleltly failed lol. After doing so, it worked fine still. Rotors that people are destroying must be made of cheese to be honest... They can withstand a fair beating even the "flexy" 203mm / 9" rotors
  22. Risers feel nicer to me. Currently using monty ti's and I can't complain but the trialtech ones feel nice on Bigman's coust! Not sure if they'd be the same on a mod like
  23. not sure im comfortable with that lol
