  4. tis ok. Got my moneys back. Thanks Andy, but it was the larger one for SLR cameras. Ive re-ordered from a different seller, so fingers crossed again...
  5. Interesting point...By the broken english Id say no, but surely if it would take 2 weeks to post, you'd put 'postage: 2 weeks' on the auction? (rather than 4 days) I don't want to just sit idly waiting until its too late for me to do anything.
  6. I used to run 180mm rear, 203mm front (don't ask). The rear slipped because the hydroxx was designed around using a hope on the rear, so getting the caliper square with the disc was pretty hard because there was a weld or something in the way! Anyway Id say do it to be honest
  7. Hi all Bought a gorillapod off ebay, paid on the 15th June, got told it was depsatched on the 17th June. Only after that, the seller started recieving negative feedback from other ebayers about other items... So Im a bit apprehensive. I havent recieved it still so I opened a dispute. I asked for the tracking number, and what address they posted it to. They replied ignoring that, saying please wait, new post office etc in broken english. Its been 6 working days since 'dispatch' and it was listed as second class delivery. I'll obviously continue to wait a little while longer, but I reckon they've not posted it. So what are my chances of getting my £10 back? I did a dispute last time and won because the seller admitted to posting to the wrong address. This time the seller will probably claim to have posted to the right address which as devil's advocate, leaves it missing in the post? Thanks Matt
  8. inspired from above... Use a spoon, a hammer, a drill, nut and bolt?
  9. Started writing a long post but gave up. An apprenticeship at those companies will be quite in-depth but very job specific (not necessarily a bad thing). Atkins are a top notch company so is probably difficult to get in to (I got a first average for my first and second years in my Mech Eng degree and got declined at Babcock and Amey for my year in industry). Anyway in short if you're actually debating it (which considering the creation of this thread is a yes) apply for it - you wont be short of work, you wont be bored and you will be challenged with work

  11. Yeah get back in shape muel Ive done 2 E2's so far in Swansea, but theyve been picked to suit my style (Big ass roof, with a short powerful boulder problem over it) But Ive been trying to get established at E1 moreso. Im just setting simple goals for the year and aiming for them, like improve my sport climbing lead by one grade each year and do more E-numbers
  12. Mega bump with some media. Im leaving Swansea uni this year and actually leaving swansea tomorrow. Ive managed to tick some classic routes here such as Pioneers of the Hypnotic Groove, my hardest sport lead at F7b: Very happy. Foxhole Cove (for UKC users) is a mint crag and THE place to go if anyone is visiting! Also sent a fantastic boulder problem at Sewer pipe, Limeslade called Taste The Rainbow Direct. Sewerpipe is a bit of a locals crag, as topos and beta is pretty hard to find. But Im glad I did find some because this was bloody awesome! The problem was originally given a whopping V9 but since downgraded to V7. Personally I think its a bit easier still, but 3 star problem is unquestionable: Finally, before TTRD I was lucky enough to get to cornwall. Any climbers in Cornwall - Im so jealous! This is my third week on cornish granite and its just immense. I only did a HVS at Sennen (zig-zag) which again was a fantastic route, but we had perfect weather and just generally had a great time. Heres a minimal compilation trailer I made using the Go-Pro of the cornwall trip: Im heading back to North Wales tomorrow so I expect to be spending alot of time in Parisellas, ticking my first V9's and V10's so watch this space. Anyone else with more climbing updates/news please do feel free to share here! Matt

  15. not sure why i found this funny
  16. This is polymerisation or polymer cross-linking and it does as you say cure the plastic. But because Polyeurathene is a thermosetting plastic (it crosslinks) this curing is a one way process, if you go too far you cant break the bonds (i.e. melt it) Has anyone actually tried to melt a brake pad into a pool of liquid? Thermoplastic polyuerathane also exists apparently, but wouldnt have thought its pad material material With regards to thew liquid moulding approach, someone mentioned early on about the inclusion of plasticisizers into the compound. This COULD be worth looking into to improve performance but might end up being costly. You can also try and see if you can orientate polymer chains along the pad length to improve shear stresses?
  17. 1) Check you're definitely running 18:12. Count the teeth... 2) Shorter cranks will make the gear ratio feel 'harder'. So changing to 18:12 AND putting shorter cranks on will feel REALLY hard 3) If you've changed your pedals, that will make a difference too I guess, but that would be obvious 4) Make sure your chain is lubed up too If all youve done is as you say, 18t freewheel on cranks and 12t on rear and its still too stiff then you have two choices. Suck it up (in a nice way), its pretty much a standard and might improve your riding, OR change the rear to a 13t sprocket. Mr Read ran one a while ago on a silver monty 221ti (memory like an elephant ) to give it a light feeling. Doing this though will lower your 'top speed' and might mean you dont get the most out of your pedal kicks....
  18. Because no one else would? And thats a small price to pay for what would undoubtedly be an epic year or two travelling!
