I dont think youre thinking outside the box dan: IF we attach a massive rocket TO the earth, we can propel ourselves forwards at 17,500mph. THEN if we launch a rocket after 500 or so centuries (wont take long, just do a crossword and the time'll fly past, seriously) we'll be close enough AND the rocket wont need to carry as much fuel. sorted

rubber if its not been said already

I like it except for the blue at the front. if it was a colour closer to yellow (like white or somethign) it would be awesome Still its a good job and its not as bad as most drastic paintjobs tend to be

yes you did. unlucky.

well so far my chains been like this for a few weeks lol if i squeeze the two lines together it straightens it out and becomes loose, but as soon as it goes round a cog it kinks and becomes tight
-
OK the grey line is normal chain running, the red line is a stiff link. because the stiff link goes up, it bunches the chain a bit, bringing the two links either side of the stiff link, closer together, meaning the chain is tighter. Because the stiff link takes the shape of the last cog its been round there will always be a bit of a shape (if its stiff enough) best I can do sorry

yah rly!

..i don't know. i got you mixed up with "has anyone seen my shoe" because you both have long forum names sorry lol :$

do you want to actually think about what you're saying here instead of just critisizing without reason? so far its calum ^^ whos managed to find a reason why its a bad idea but ffs all you've done is just said "yep its crap idea" brains *** EDIT: And for a start I didn't plan this it just happened, and just so happens to help a bit by shortening the chain a few mm so it doesn't slap etc.
-
OK ha, bare with me this may be hard to explain Before I re-linked the chain, the placing I had meant that the disc was pretty nice inside the caliper, but the chain would be a little bit slack. So (by accident) I discovered an easy, free and oddly reliable way of making the chain tighter: Stiff links. Because my chain has a couple of stiff links in it, the chain line is "longer" and takes up the slack. It doesn't skip or make any weird noises either clever? or have i not thought of something? if the atter please say thanks

Ive used 4 cross builds for most of my wheelbuilds, except for times when I forgot to ask tarty I want 4x. 3x is still good though, and saves weight!!!!!!!!!! lmao (because shorter spokes = less spoke material)

I hated these for so long but theres a couple of things I found helped: 1: Dont do it from a pavement up a wall. More often then not, you need to drop your front end REALLY low and the pavement will just get in the way. find a gap first 2: For that instant quick swap as JT said find an upwards slope. The slope will give you a bit more something (height? boing? not sure) but either way it helps LOADS. 3: Don't do it REALLY close to the thing. I was gapping from just over bike length away and found I coudn't get any bosch to really get into the move. try it a bit further away so you can give it more pasty 4: Get your weight right. You dont need it too far front for the boing technique but enough so that your bike "levels out" mid air and your close to horizontal 5: no front brake and if poss grab the back brake as soon as you stop moving. That bit of extra roll may help you to stay on Thats all I can think of. Once you get them though, they're so fun, especially on up slopes

on a slightly related note, it winds me up on why roadies use the road when (near me) theres a perfectly good cycle path? i mean wtf? they'd rather face more danger and piss off loads of motorists than use the cyclepath - which the government has spent thousands of pounds constructing. So you see building a cyclepath doesn't mean cyclists will use it. I guarantee that roadies will STILL use the road and that really pisses me off. Its like the government building a trials park for us, and we just ignore it and go ride benches and stuff ok sorry im done. Cyclepaths are good (pyshcopaths aren't)

Will arnolds had some for a while now. He says they're really stiff and not too heavy for the price at least. I had a go and they are pretty nice. Pretty much a cheap koxx/echo fork to be honest

THAT is nice. REALLY nice. good choice of colour and very suited too. Perfect touch: colour in "monty" on your stem in the same colour
