i guess it all depends on how you were being "mouthy" my mate is really argumentative, but never raises his voice or becomes aggressive in an argument. once we finished an exam and went to chill in a park nearby. a copper came up to us and said we were skipping school (btw in our school we were allowed to sign out and walk out if we wanted to in 6th form) so we explained that to him but he still said we were skipping school. none of us were wearing school logos or ties so my mate start asking questions as to why he's picked up on us: "surely anyone can wear a white shirt and black trousers and sit in a park? from school children to fully grown adults?" "yes but you appear to me to be the age of school children" "but we're from ysgol bryn elian, we're allowed to go out by authorisation of headmaster" "doesn't matter I still have to escort you back in the police car" "why though? we've done nothing wrong, we're not going to DO anything wrong we're just trying to calm down after an exam. Also we're at the legal age that we could have left school by now and our work uniform is a white shirt and trousers, and we're on a lunch break" that convinced him enough to leave us alone. But we never got in trouble because my mate was being serious and was asking with intrigue, not with intent to cause an argument. I presume the copper probably thought you were trying to annoy him vicky pollard stye
