Sorry, I know what you mean, you mean it wouldn't topple over because of the centripedal (or centrifugal? can't remember) forces keeping it vertical, but it would still fall downwards

so you've already built it 3x and it didn't work, so you tried 2x and that hasn't either? When you did 3x, was it the same problem just maybe slightly different lengths of "exposure"? if so it may be 4x which isn't as uncommon as you may think. If you really want to persevere and save the pennies, try it 4x. If not, stop trying to make a square pig fit in a round hole and get the right sized spokes off tarty dave + adam
