Thanks for your help, i'll try cleaning the rim with something, as these pads are new, and do work really well when they're clean.

Right, im currently running plazmatic crm's on a smooth rim....and this brake works amazingly when its clean...... However the pads keep gettin covered in dirt from the rim really quickly and this stops the brake working :turned: Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if anyone can give me any ideas as to how to clean my rim really well (it doesn't look dirty at all!) :"> Thanks

It's possible that it could be your freewheel, if your running a front one? Check that its tight (Y)

I got mine off with a blowtorch, heat it up, put cold water on it to cool it, and then it should have loosened up enough to undo... Actually that might not work too well on a wheel.... :">

Unfortunately i was planning on getting a purple front hope xc hub for my bike, does any one have any ideas where there might be a few still kicking around?

Loads of manufacturers seem to be discontinuing their colourful parts! :D First i noticed Azonic bars are no longer colourful, merely silver and black, and now my friend has found that gold and red fsa headsets seem to be going..... Im also led to believe that hope no longer manufacture purple hubs :P What are we going to do? Bikes will become very boring if this continues, everything will be silver and black! Why are manufacturers doing this! I'll have to start painting parts myself soon...

Also some stems like the koxx tryall one are "normal" sized so you could run something like azonics on it :P

No i didnt have to cut the steerer, it went on normally Also because the tube on the stem was longer i was able to take out a spacer and have the stem lower than my onza one

Ok yesterday my new koxx mod stem arrived, and it seems that ive go the new design... The top cap is now slopey like the monty one, but most intrigingly of all, there are now two holes in it! :( Koxx Top cap Can anyone think of a reason why they have done this?

Recently my ACS freewheel has become slightly less easier to rotate, like when i push the bike along, the cranks now spin aswell since the freewheel is sticking a bit. Its not much, just a bit annoying...... Im assuming that its because theres some dirt in my freewheel, but will it actually affect the performance of it? Because i really dont want to go to the effort of cleaning it out if i don't really need to? Thanks

Well both will give you a good front brake, since both are very poweful..Its all really your preference, maguras tend to give a very good on/off type brake, and discs will usually give you more modulation but will still lock the wheel if they need to, its all down to how you want to ride i think

I think when i go for a gap i start like in picture one, but my crank ends up facing almost all the way down after i've kicked. Everyone seems to have a different technique for gapping though... (ooooo my first post now ive been validated how exciting! (N) )
