I can really picture this to be your only problem, from my vastly limited knowledge of the UK's border force laws, you can get a 6 month travellers permit (or something) to visit the UK, learn its language, have a little ride, etc. but you have to prove that you have enough money (like in your account) to support and provide yourself when your here because you won't be allowed to work during your time on that type of visa. And I really doubt getting a working visa to the UK will be worth all the money and effort if you only plan to visit.
