Acs Claws Freewheel Coming Loose?
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com replied to downhill_rob2@hotmail.com's topic in Trials Chat
I didnt make my first post understandable for you thick people :D :D :D hehe :( Iv edited it now any ways :- -
Im sure that echo have went for the option that you have to buy their rear cog hub aswell as their B/B so that they get more money i guess....
-
The ronnie rims are VERY good and VERY strong rims, but they arnt indestructable, just like any other rim! BUT, if you frame is wide enough to take a Echo rim, id say definatly try one out, they are meant to be the bollox and look fantastic, cant wait to get mine! Echo have said that the rims are un-dintable, and thats a VERY hard thing to say, cause they dont want to be lieing :D I cant wait till i get my rim though :(
-
Isnt the limey not a comp specific frame? Doesnt this mean it isnt exactly the strongest of frames around? Id say that the control will illiminate all them frames! lol Personaly, i dont like Zoo! bikes any more!

If your ACS claws freewheel is coming loose all the time when just riding along, and you dont have the extra £5 or so to pay for a prewelded one from www.selectbikes.co.uk, why not just weld it yourself? or find someone with a MIG welder to weld it for you? Heres how to do it properly.... First of all, take your crank arm off your bike, and put the crank in a vice so that the freewheel is facing upwards, now take the lockring off the freewheel (to do this, turn it clockwise) now put some fresh grease in and make sure nothing has fell out or broke inside, then replace the lockring (turn it anti-clockwise to tighten) make sure its nice and tight so its working perfect :D cause your never going to be able to take it apart again, you only get one chance at this next part.... Now get your MIG welder, and weld 4 little bits of weld onto the lock ring like this: MAKE SURE YOU HIT BOTH THE LOCKRING AND THE BLACK PART WHERE THE FREEWHEEL TOOL GOES ON!!! this stops the lockring from moving/coming loose again. Its worked for 7 months for me, and its still going 100% stong, its starting to get a little bit gritty though cause my bike fell in the river :( lol. Remember, saftey first when welding!! Peace out!
-
Ahhhhh so your trying to lock it out then? lol, i didnt understand (sowwie) Im not too sure on how to weld it like that, but maybe take the lockring off, then degrease it so you can weld on it inside. then ingage it so that the freewheel is locked in, (maybe wanna hold it engaged with some plyers or summit) then id say just fill the whole thing with weld lol, or maybe just fill the gaps inside the freewheel so that it doesnt spin any more? lol i dunno lol. Sorry for the confusion!
-
Probably doesnt need them for the strength of them! lol and also they are trying to save weight aswell since they are 50G lighter without the eyelets :( 700 :D :D :D :D I wish i was there, would be trying to put them up my top to nick :P
-
What do you mean? All i done was take the crank off the bike, put it in a vice so that the freewheel was facing up-wards and then just put 4 little lumps of weld onto where i have put them. Just make sure that the weld lumps are touching, both, the bit where the freewheel tool goes on (dark black part) and the lockring (sliver) and then it will never come loose again :D Oh and make sure that the lockring it at the perfect tightness before welding :(
-
As asked: Hope them pics help of where to put the weld. Just use a MIG welder, dont over do the weld though, and dont catch the sprocket part so that it doesnt spin :(
-
I think you will find the control will piss all over the pitbull :D :D
-
Make sure that the freewheel is in perfect working order and doesnt need serviced (put new grease in before you weld it up if needed) and if you like, i could go and take my crank arm off my bike and take a pic of what i have done to weld it?
-
Im getting the Mod one, just have to convince my mam to pay £91 for the whole new rear wheel :D I also want a pic of how thick the sidewalls are aswell please. Could you get a pic of the ronnie next to the echo so i can see the diffrent in thickness please? Thanks, rob! P.S, looks the bollox like!!! (im getting greeeeeeeen :( :D )

I Dont Understand :s
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com replied to downhill_rob2@hotmail.com's topic in Trials Chat
Yes i have actually, iv ridden with both riders in person... i still think that stan is better on 26" than ben, if stan was riding a 20" then by all means, ben would shit all over stan and probably himself :) just, stan sidehops that massive bike lockers thingy at morcambe, and backwheels it, i didnt see ben side hop it at all, he tryed, but JUST failed! i didnt see him front touch it either, just front hookinh it....
