The National Bike Show 'official' List.
Danny@phatworks replied to Team Ashton's topic in Trials Chat
The Organisers just seem to not have a bloody clue what they are doing. The bikeshow has always been something in my mind that the Marts would put together for everyone and no matter who organised it, it just wouldn't be the same.... I have been going to the bikeshow since 00/01 (whatever the one was where their was the speed trials over them big cage things and ryan leech was their) and I have really enjoyed them but this sounds like it's going to be as entertaining as watching paint dry. -
What the hell, this video is ancient! brings back some fun memorys in Worcester though. Shame Steve doesn't really ride anymore now though....

Nice little video, some good camera angles and big crazy drop gaps, fairplay. Only thing I can say is just try to add a bit of variation of moves your doing and link moves together, just seemed to be all sidehops and gaps really and it does get a little repetitive/dull but being it was only a 2 minute video it was ok, if it was 5 minutes of that I would start to get bored as it would get very tedious. But yer, short and sweet. Nice one on the sponsorship as well

I agree with what your saying, however it is not a bad thing by any means. In my point of view it is making trials riding more interesting as everytime I see a vid of this guy he is doing something completely new and different and really opening new doors for trials/street riding to progress to. To the average joe public I think this type of riding would appeal to them much more if they watched Danny doing a demo in the street compared to a 'pure' trials rider because the riding Danny does is so much more attractive to the eye and doesn't get tedious by constant hopping.
-
Nice pictures Pauly! Your riding has come a long way since the echo bounce when I last saw you When are you bringing a video out?!?

Wow, havn't seen this video in years, good stuff I remember watching those few clips of Martin Kleivard on that crescent god knows how many times. Revolution is still the daddy of trials videos though. Someone upload Contact, lost my VHS copy of it The Stratford clips and Chris Clark and Jeff Lenosky's skatepark sections are awesome.

Spot on In terms of the working their, you cannot work over their without a visa or a tempory visa (say for example a company gives you an internship as part of a foreign youth programme etc) Obtaining a full US citizen visa is pratically impossible nowadays unless you have $1,000,0000.00 lying around to put in an american bank. Im not sure the deal with getting one via the skills points system based on a trade and/or qualifications. I know for a Canadian visa its 36 points to get skills/working trade visa (which requires ALOT of qualifications, experience etc.)

Yes, online is easiest and to get the best deals really. Once you book the flight you will get an email/fax confirming your flight details. You will need to take that to the airport when you go to check in your baggage. Some good sites I have used when going to the states and Canada numerous times are: http://www.expedia.com http://www.opodo.co.uk/ http://www.cheapflights.co.uk Or could try the flight companies direct such as: Virgin Atlantic or British Airways, they are the 2 best in my opinion, you get more leg room with BA though (which is better obviously being on an 8 hour plus flight, depending where your going in states), but BA can either be really cheap or really expensive. Virgin are very good though and sometimes have PS2 under the seats to play on

Which Rider/style Would U Rather See A Video Of...
Danny@phatworks replied to Joe Papasnap Maher's topic in Trials Chat
Hmmm interesting topic when you read the title then you open it up and its a poll between two of the top riders in the fields of riding you are trying to compare, which in turn makes it a comparison vote of 'who is your favourate rider?' type topic which is just going to be judged purely on opinions and preferences towards Danny and Damon and therefore pointless. Don't know what people are going on about with this creativity lark, all trials riding is creative whether its hurling up a 55" wall or abbubaca (sp?) to backwards manual off a 3 foot wall etc etc. all of it is using creativity and imagination one way or another. I voted for Danny Mac however but not because of the rider Danny Mac because of the type of riding he does: spinning, combination of tricks in a move and attack it at speed! its awesome. However I still think Damons videos are incredible and some of the stuff this guy can do on a trials bike!! its unbelievable. But every rider is going to watch different types of videos for ideas and inspiration and the real streety type videos such as the Danny Mac/Akrigg/Phil Feeney/Tim Pratt or whoever does it for me. -
How Long Have You Been Riding?
Danny@phatworks replied to trialsboy_06's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
5 or 6 years now -
Haha, havn't seen that video for a while, did some of the filming for it. Ben would have been 17 when that video was made I think. Part of the reason there is two Zoo 25 videos is that the rest of the trialsworks guys quit and they were sponsored by Zoo as a group, so Ben made a solo video when he wasn't really sponsored by them any more but didn't know. He rides Bmx now

I miss my Pashley.... Sweet bike mate, looks awesome and I bet its ALOT of fun to ride.

What Do You Think Of Ryan Leech?
Danny@phatworks replied to Tailz222's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I think the thing about Ryan Leech is that he has a different view about trials riding; seeing riding a bike over obstacles as an 'art form'. As his riding is just creativity and imagination of what he can do on a trials bike and in how many different ways/styles/techniques. Now days with trials majority of riders are just throwing themselves at the highest/biggest/craziest things they can find which is fantastic, but when you see a rider like Ryan Leech who is riding things in a variety of ways and style i.e. manifesto, it does make them stand out. But I have always been a Ryan Leech fan ever since I brought the revolution video. -

Last time I spoke to Ben he was riding BMX and I beleive he is still doing so now.

Nice pictures, that trials park looks pretty cool, might have to make my way up there one day being as I am only a 45 min drive from Valencia.... Are you doing a Costa Blanca trials tour or something going from Benidorm to Valencia? If you can get down to Alicante, is awesome there Next time your over give me a shout, if my bike/car is actually working properly I can come show you round some areas what are pretty decent.
-
Nice pictures, I live about 20 minutes from Benidorm. Pretty decent riding spread out over the place, especially up in the old town and near the Terra Mitica theme park if you like natural.
-
-Watching the Megamo team do a demo in Halfords car park. -Seeing Marc Caisso at the bikeshow on a megamo when he was world champion. -When Kurt Brain was riding an echo (es2?) at the bikeshow and then they sold out in and hour or something. -Trials-Punks -Trials-kings -Trialsworks -Tricks and Stunts -Revolution and the other 2 Reed Merschat films. Many more things I could list, but just a few things that spring to mind.

--> QUOTE(joe b @ Dec 10 2006, 10:03 PM) ←He was in the original ZOO! team, which consisted of him, Neil Tunnicliffe and Yao Zhi. I think ... He was in the trialsworks team with Mikey J, John, Rich etc. great laugh all of that lot. Shame none of them ride nowadays. sigh, good days when trials riding was super fun unlike now..

hmmmmmm, Bloody hell! Fairplay Neil, you continue to raise the bar vid after vid. Simply amazing what you can do on a bike now. Keep it up
