i always take a bag out with helmet,gloves,set of allen keys,pliers,spanner,ratchet with bb tool on,crank extractor,chain toolspare magura levers,pads,drink,phone,tar for anyone who needs it (although i dont use it myself)ipod,tubes if i have them,sometimes a vee incase magura screws,spare bb,spoke key,spare gear cable,star fangled nut.think thats it... fair play on having a go,but i have a sneaking suspicion iv seen the exact same frame somewhere before,i just cant remember where,and it wasnt on the net.i dont personally like that style of bike,but i guess its another point for the long low and silver brigade!looks fairly solid though. Carl

go for a grind.feels weird at first because its not as snappy stopping as tar,but it holds so much better.awsome modulation,manuals are better,works in the wet,unlike tar which goes slick! just make sure u get an even grind all the way round,i suggest practising on an old rim,anything will do. you dont actually need to build muscle,its proven that if your cardio is good enough your muscles get stronger and more durable anyway.cardio will improve your stamina and generally make you feel stronger.weights arent needed.just use the cycle machine,rowing machine,running machine at the gym,maybe lift some light weights,but do lots of repitition,to build stamina.Thats pretty much what i used to do when training for mx,maybe a few heavier weights and some situps,but not a great deal of muscle building.Cardio is THE way foreward. i used to race mx,and imo the best mx game i've ever played is on the x-box, MTX:-Mototrax.it has freeride and freestyle comps on it,but you can't beat it on sheer racing fun.most realistic i've played.I was looking at this mx vs atv thingy and was gonna buy it but didn't.hope its good... d/l atm. im gonna agree with dan and ash,i prefer those times when everyone messed around and had a laugh.anyways,i've just started riding again,after having a year of working on and off,fightin drug addiction etc but im sober now(apart from a bit of drink) and thoroughly enjoyin the little rides near my house.loads of the people in abingdon that quit have started again and were all lovin it again! I start a new job tomo so iim gonna work for a few weeks and then i'll have money to go on group rides again. i think its just last year that seemed to kill trials for alot of people,dont know why,it was just a shit year in some aspects. ttfn Carl

i dont think cls or butler will be.i dont know why,but i could only see a few riders who have the certain 'qualities' to achieve said status.and theyre just average street riders who aint even sponsored,apart from porter.he'says a right laugh. somehow though i dont see it ever happening,its the same as music,you wont get another 'motley crue' or a band that has their lifestyle,same as there wont be any more martins,it arrived,it achieved,it'll never come along again.which will only make them grow bigger in the trials world,if that's at all possible? carl

personally i would rather watch people like berridge etc ride,just because i find it more enjoyable to watch,they flow better than people who just go big.personally i've never used a tape to measure stuff,mainly cos i dont care.i'd rather be able to do a tech type line smoothly and suffer a little on height of sidehops.personal preference,both are ways of riding trials.and i'm very tired so if this made no sense then im sorry. carl

like someone said above,it could be something he used to keep him awake whilst travelling etc.i got banned from moto-x about 5 years ago when i was 14for 'steroid' use.i was 6 times over the limit.what they failedto rea;ise is that it was my hayfever tablets,and i wastaking 6 of them to get them to work,cause your body gets immune to them.i wouldnt be suprised if there were a fair few people using some kind of enhancement for riding,it happens in almost every other sport on the planet,so there's a good chance. carl
