I've spoken to the guy I bought it off, he said it's never had any repair work done to it in his ownership of it! I'm not fussed, as it's all getting re-done anyway. Can't wait to get it on!

Picked up an S4 front bumper the other night, only £50! It's a bit of a winter project at the moment. I plan to sand it all down, get the numberplate recess and the headlight washer holes plastic welded and smoothed over. Then get it primered, and find someone to paint it! This is how it started. I also need to find the outer grills and surrounds. Pretty hard to find so far! Started sanding it down. I had loads of decent 240 grit at work, so I've used that so far. I'll be borrowing an electric sander off of someone soon to make it easier! Started finding filler along the bottom, which is strange. I can't see any reason for it being there yet! But all will be revealed soon enough. I'm not fussed about it, as it will all be getting smoothed anyway! It's had a LCR splitter fitted at some point too, so I might start looking for one of those too...

I had that problem, but I programmed my windows to open/close when I hold the unlock/lock buttons on my key fob. Door frozen shut, open window from outside, open door from inside, win.

Nothing exciting really, but I did my wheel alignment at work today. We've had a £60k installation of a Hunter Hawk Eye Elite geometry kit. Took almost all of November to fit as they had to dig out the floor to fit the new ramp. So to treat myself for putting up with noisy builders for a few weeks I thought I'd see where the wheels are pointing on the Audi! Seeing as I only have cheapo TA Technix, I couldn't enter the correct spec's for the suspension, so I had to confuse the computer by setting it up for standard suspension. It wanted me to get a measurement with the car raised using a special tool from VW, but seeing as we don't have that, I just bypassed the measurement and got on with it. All I was aiming for was to get it to drive down the road in a straight line when I hold the steering wheels straight, as it was aiming to the right before! This is before: Quite happy with the front camber! Waaay off what it should be standard, but they're pretty much perfect on each side! The front toe is all over the place, way off to the left, which makes sense as the steering wheel sits to the right in a straight line. So after getting my arms stuck many time (the track rod arms are at the top on my car!) and wrestling with the gaiter so it didn't twist up, I got it done: As good as I could be bothered to get it! It's waaay too sensitive. You could breath on it and it'd knock it into the red! Well worth doing now, as it feels so much better to drive! I'm still prepared for poor tyre wear from the camber, but it won't be as bad now! Very boring update, but it gives you some pictures to look at!

Impressively fast work Robin! Nice one. Took my wheels off on Saturday to put my lovely standard's back on. Gave them a wash: Now they're stored in my room.

Ah I see, perhaps that's not my issue then. I think I have a leak somewhere, as it stuggles to start up at first, and it has new(ish) glow plugs too. I'll look into it properly one day!

Looks like the back end steps out a bit easy in it! Or is Bessell too heavy footed?

What did you do to lose the trapped air in the system? I think I have the same problem with mine...

Tom - Nah still rolling on these! I might give it a service and change the wheels over on Saturday though...

You should do it over and over in different conditions... like snow, sun, rain...
