  1. Don't forget yours had been cracked and re-welded before you got it too.

    Get2

    Worked fine through my PS3!
  3. Nice find! Might aswell see if you can find ( ) an easier way into the place, and just take your bike in and see what you make of the place.
  4. I miss the days when Mike used to fall off a lot! with his big curly hair! Awesome video Jonny, as usual. Shame it's a bit short...
  5. I've never understood why, but my BB7 always feels a lot stiffer with the barrell adjuster on the lever wound right it! I've set it up with the adjuster right in on the lever, then adjusted the lever pull on the red dials, but it was just mush. Also, when I took my BB7 apart ages ago, I only had 1 ball bearing in the caliper, and saw room for another 2, so I found 2 the same size, and put them in too. The brake felt a lot more solid after that, as it was like the caliper was kept flat when pulling the brake, as apposed to it 'leaning over' on the one BB in there..? Made sense to me anyway, and I think it payed off!

    Star Nut

A nice way to get it to go down nice and level is to find a socket (or something) that fits perfectly inside the steerer, and tap the star nut down with that.
  7. You're really supposed to replace the chain and sprockets together, as they all wear down with eachother. Putting a new chain on worn sprockets will just wear the chain down quickly to suit the sprocket wear. If you replace them all at the same time, they all wear down with eachother and last a lot longer! Obviously it's way more expensive, and a lot more work, but it's better in the long run...
  8. Yeah, you'll need new spokes. Just tell Tartybikes (Guessing that's where you're ordering from!) what rim/hub you have, and they'll sort the rest out! Wheelbuilding is pretty easy once you get your head around it. I managed to confuse myself a couple of times trying to get the valve hole to land in the right place! But once you get it, it'll stick.
  9. My one is bone-dry inside. I really should put some sort of oil on it just to keep things happy, but it's never caused a big problem...
  10. Got to be the most chilled reaction to getting bitten by a snake? My corn snake bit me once, I just put her back in the vivarium straight away, no way did I think to grab my camera and show T-F! That's dedication.
  11. Obviously just trying to bite your calluses for you...
  12. I totally bum my loud Profile hub. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=15301111&fbid=10150290148990078&id=694500077&ref=nf#!/video/video.php?v=10150278066490468&ref=mf - Quick clip of me my mate filmed testing out his new camera... my hub and brake sound awesome!
  13. Any Mod hub will fit, yes. They're all standard spacing.
  14. Decent oven cleaner (Mr Muscle) works too, if you sit it in there for long enough!
  15. Yeahh I'll come out and play I think! I'll have a word with some other locals are try and get them out too. Was a few of us out today, but it started raining and made everything a bit slippy...
  16. Pretty haggard! I approve.

    Citreon Saxo

I have a Mini, never had a problem with the pedals at all.

    Citreon Saxo

I've had a wuick drive in one, the pedals are waaay too close together!
  19. Yes Steve, looks nice! I'll have to have a quick play on it at the weekend if I see you...
  20. On mods, with 18:12 ration (1.5) you end up with more engagements with a freehub because the wheel turns 1.5times to every full crank rotation. So my Profile on the back with 48 engagements, with the 1.5 ratio I have 72.
  21. What's the problem you're having to think you need to make the chain shorter? It should already be the right length for the bike if it's the standard chain...

    Maggy Problems

When it's all done up tight, is there a gap between the clamps? If there is, cut the bolts down slightly. Best way to do it is to lock two nuts together on the bolt, and use that as a guide to cutting the bolt down so it's flat at the end. Then just run the nut over the edge a few times to clean off the end. As said, the plastic washers on the slave cylinders could be squashed. Either replace them, or you could wrap electrical tape around the cylinders. Just make sure you set the brake up right first time, as the clamps will squash the tape down in place, and every time you change the brake around it will naturally sit to how the tape is squashed.
  24. So it's like the drivetrain is fixed? - Doesn't coast at all? If so, sounds like the freewheel has had it, probably blown up inside and jammed up. If you can, take it apart and have a look. Maybe you've just snapped a pawl or something.
