What I asked him: Just gotta wait for the reply.

When you replaced yours, did you have the little washers (0.1mm ones)? I only have two...so I put them both inbetween the Hub, and driver bearings...Is that right? I know the driver shouldn't tighten it up, but i'm hoping it'll sort itself out. I've had enough of fiddling with it, the engagement works fine...
-
I said 0.1mm washers? Didn't I? No I didn't...but they're the 0.1mm ones. Just a thought...do the driver bearings just need to bed it? I rode with it earlier..and it all seems fine, engagment wise etc...

Just typed everything out..and lost it. Right... Bolt spacer things? - The bits that press onto the end of the axle? I have those. The driver wasn't touching the dropout. Do I need a spacer on either of those end caps? I have two small, wafer thin spacers, and i'm not 100% sure where they go exactly. I've got the hub bearings, and axle in place. I then put both spacers on the axle, followed by the driver. So inbetween the hub bearing and driver bearings, are these two spacers. I don't think the axle is flare or anything, the end caps come off and on fine, and it's still round from what I can see. The driver doesn't wobble at all once it's all on. It feels perfect, untill I tighten it up in the frame. Then the driver stiffens up, and feels like the chains really tight, so it doesn't freely spin backwards... And..erm..Ratchet ring? :$

Sounds like the beads gone. - New tyre. ...or you're not putting the tyre on properly. - new technique.

I doubt that's work. The problem is, is that when I tighten the hub bolts, it also tightens up the bearings? The driver seems really stiff, like the chains really tight, even when it's not. Hmm..maybe. But there is a gap inbetween each pair of bearings? See? Edit: Turns out that 'spacer' I had was the outer part of a driver bearing case. It might just need bedding in? The engagement works perfectly, better than before even. It's just the driver getting stiff that's the problem..it's like it find some viagra when I tighten the bolts..

Could do what Mike Singleton did...get two of the same rim, bolt them together, and build it up?

Snaped My Monty 221ti Folks Today

Look how think the steerur is, not surprising that it snapped. Good work though.. -
Bump. Put it on the bike last night, and rode it around, it was fine forwards, and it engages properly... Just when you turn the cranks backwards, it feels like the chain is mega tight, when it wasn't? Then, when I loosen off the hub bolts, it feels fine again.

Put my new bug bearins earlier, all fine and dandy. As I tighten it up in my frame, I get it as tight as i normally do, and the cassette dtiffens up? I take it out the frame, put the bolt in the non-drive side, and twat it with my rubber mallet, and it feels free and 'normal' again. Then it does the same when I tighten it. I'm certain that i've got it all in right. Goes: End -- Driver - driver bearings inside (4) - little spacers - Hub bearing -----axle----- Hub bearing -- End. I guess there isn't any spacers or anything inbetween the hub bearing, and driver? There was so many broken bits coming out when I broke the old bearings... Anyone know why it's doing this? EDIT: Found two little spacers, so I put those on, on the drive-side, inbetween the driver, and bearings. Now when I tighten the bolts when it's in the frame, the driver still stiffens up? But when I loosen the bolts, the driver loosens off too? Please Note: The bearings are the exact same as the old ones. So same ID, OD, and width etc. The (model?) number on them, matches what the guide on Profile's website says. So yeah, got the right bearings.

Whats In Your, "what Not To Do" Book?

Don't go near angry, vicious, young swans. I'll let you guess... -
I don't think you understand how auctions work.. Starts off at a low price, so people think they'll get a good deal. Once two people want it, they'll start out-bidding eachother - seller makes more money. So it could end up selling for £500...you never know. Off to ask the seller some questionsss...

Levers are rotten? - What are they made out of, wood? A lot can happen to parts in 3months you know...so don't just blame where you got the levers from. - The bike could've been left outside, rusting the levers (if they're steel), or the bike could've been dropped, and bent or generally fooked the levers. You'll be a lot better off buying a second hand stock, than trying to learn on that...you'll find it easier to ride, and enjoy riding, instead of having loads of problems with your current bike.

I'll be at work. Someone record it?
-
You don't replace the steerer in any forks. They're just....shit.
-
Nah, you don't need a locknut. The cog will just tighten itself as you ride...always fun trying to get those off..
-
Yeah, but Ali...your bike falls down cliffs and stuff. I have an XTR, feels welll nice. Nice round shape to the lever blade, whereas my old Avid one was more flat..?

Oh god... Zoo bars aren't shit! Just because the odd few bars have snapped, doesn't mean they all will. Every pair of bars will snap...so don't be like 'oh..won't be getting bars then.. '
-
I've seen a picture of a snapped pair before.... Was bloody ages ago, so don't expect me to bother looking for it. All bars will snap...have you guys bothered to noptice how thin Zoo bars are? It's worrying...but not enough to stop me riding.

If you trust your BB enough to not break...at all, then get yourself some Araldite, and glue that mofo in!
-
As he said. Chains, cogs, and sprockets all wear evenly. Really, you should replace them all at the same time when they wear out, as replacing say, just the chain, and leaving the cogs etc, then the chain will just wear down so it'll run with everything else. If you replace them all at the same time, it'll last much longer. Even though it means breaking the bank some more.

Lmao@ Simon+Ben. But yeah, you left it in the driveway, at a guess, your mum's parked her car there a million times, so she knows exactly what to do. She probably wasn't expecting your bike to be there, so she didn't think to look out of it. And to be fair, it was lying down, she's sat quite low down in a car, with a steering wheel etc, and a bonnet infront of her. She might've not seen it y'know...

The way I see it...Chavs are the useless pricks, who have nothing better to do then mug people, nick clothes from markets, and live in proper run down areas in council houses. Living off of benefit fraud, and having kids just for the money. Not even knowing who the father of their child is, or if they're male, not even knowing if they've got a kid or not. EDIT: Got some words muddled up...

I'll edit..to stay on the safe side. Ermm..nice boots?
