    Rear Slick ?

I've made my front Maxxis slic. Just cut all the knobbles off the sides with a steak knife. Didn't take long at all! got it fairly smooth.
  2. I never understood why everyone loves that place so much? It always made my brakes dusty for the whole days riding so they didn't work! haha. We usually park in the industrial estate to ride the city anyway, as it's free.
  3. Not trials, but still from todays riding:
  4. With red Clean logos yeah?
  5. It's just your muscles/skin toughening up. All you can really do is man up and get through it.
  6. Sealed hubs don't usually have cones to tighten, as they're a sealed bearing. If the frame/forks is definately clamping the wheel up properly, and they're still wobbling, then it'll mean the bearings are shot and need replacing. All you can really do is take it apart and have a proper look at it!
  7. Update: Gram or two saved?
  8. I'd still go lightweight, just because I'm being a weight-fag. Just wont go for magnesium alloy rims again!
  9. When building my Neon up again with a new spec, I chose DOB Magnesium rims front and rear. As I fitted my Monty tyre to the rear one, it was very hard to fit! The last bit of the bead finally slipped on with a 'bang!' and it turned out my tyre lever had punched a hole in the inner wall. Oops! So today, I take the front wheel out to fix a puncture. Have a look at the rim, and spot this: Crap! My mission to build the bike with a nice light spec' didn't exactly go to plan! I guess I tightened the spokes a bit too much, which is an amateur mistake I know. Not really any point to this thread really. Just shows that being a weight-fag isn't always the best option.
  10. Yes Joe, that was sick! Always liked your style.
  11. Radfest. London evening rides. Local evening rides. Driving around, windows down (remind me, I MUST fix my driver side window!) General just do the same as last year, with more travelling.
  12. Avid brakes are Post mount, but come with adapters that change it to IS mount. - Which is what's on the brake now! So the caliper is different to your old one, but with the adapter in place, it should just bolt straight onto the frame as it is now? - Can't quite get my head around what the problem is?
  13. Finally found the 'Back to top' button! Any chance of moving it to the bottom left? - I'm too used to it being on that side.
  14. Liking the 'Janitor' idea JT! - That's a good shout. I was saying in another thread ( ) about how there's a lot of members on here that could help contribute to the forum in a big way, given the chance! - You've just came up with the idea I was looking for with that, There's a lot of members that are pretty involved with the validation of new members - MadManMike, JD, to name a couple. They'd be perfect for the job! - Giving the 'Janitors' the rights to 'sin bin' members would be a better way to do it. They'd have a non-biased opinion, and would stop all the haters from grouping up on certain individuals! Imagine if this system was in place when FatPants was in his prime?
  15. Yeah, life's alright. Got a secure job, not the best pay ever, but enough. Got a few debts to keep me on my toes! Bike's working, car's behaving itself. Got no idea where i'll be in 5yrs, but then I've never known that! Can't say it's amazing, but can't say it's awful. Pretty standard really?
  16. I likes a clean desktop! Picture I took ages ago playing about with strawberries in water. - Oh so generic!
  17. Me and my mate were talking about this the other night. Instantly came to the conclusion that being close to death is an awesome feeling! - The fear, excitement, adrenaline, all rolled into one. Only really applies if you get out clean with no injuries... Others also include: Manuel dream, driving about in summer, windows down, cool breeze through the window, good songs and mates to chill with. Long summer evening rides with good friends, having a laugh. - Being able to ride in shorts/t-shirt in the middle of the night and still be hot!
  18. Not confusing at all Sam! Start at the bus station, go up the hill to the theatre district, hen go back down. It's alright for riding, got some good spots dotted about!
  19. Should bolt straight onto the frame by the looks of it? 160mm rotor yeah?
  20. And lose the pimp-ness of the Tech levers!? Looks alright that! I keep looking at the Bjorn frame, one day I'll order one. For now, I'm on a major Deng-free weight weenie mission with my Neon.
  21. Looks good! Let me know when you change the stem on it, I'll happily take that Monty one off your hands.
  22. You just get a long cable that you cut down to size. When you do get it, be sure to remove the inner cable before you cut it! (Made that misake before!)
