  1. Had a friend showed it to me, and been on it ever since!
  2. Took them so long to find him though as the network's always down.
  3. So when all the real (Comp') trials riders aren't competing, just out practising/training or whatever, are they no longer 'real' trials riders because they're not competing?
  4. I just snapped the axle on my FSA one... Got nothing on your one though!
  5. If the rear tyre looks massive compared to the front, like most mod bikes, then you have a 19" rear wheel. Like this: Another way to tell is to take both tyres off, and see if the rear one will fit on the front.
  6. Onza once tried this with a knurled rim. Would've lasted a long time, but it ate pads very quickly! Plus the tooling involved to make each rim was very time consuming and costly, so they scrapped the idea. Best thing to do is just go dual disc.
  7. What about the Middleburn Supertrials bash's (or whatever they're called?) That would've involved new moulds, machinery, etc... for a niche sport. FFW 'Burns would be nice to see!

    Gears?

As long as you can set the mech' up properly, so it keeps the chain aligned with the cogs, it shouldn't skip! Just got to make sure you don't bash the mech' on a wall or something. Hardly see anyone run gears now, think it's because of the reason I just said, and a weight issue.
  9. 18:12 with 170mm cranks. Perfect
  10. If that's a big jug of cider then you've got yourself a good'un!
  11. I had to do this with a 26h hub, 32h rim. Lacing that up sucked.
  12. Watch the rotor as you pull the lever. If the rotor gets pushed to one side of the caliper, then you've found the problem! You want the disc to practically rub against the inner pad, so that the other pad moves in when you pull the lever, and clamp it. It sounds like the outer pad is pushing the rotor over into the inner one, so the spongey feeling is the rotor bending over slightly. Easy to fix. Loosen the caliper bolts, pull the lever, tighten the bolts, release. Should do the trick!
  13. The reason they have oil originally is because it has a much higher boiling point than water, and also has lubricant qualities. Don't forget that these aren't trials specific brakes! They're XC brakes. Riding down steep hills/cliffs/whatever and dragging the brakes will heat them up. - The last thing you'd want is for your fluid to boil over, and the brakes not work! Magura internals are plastic, so they don't corrode. Meaning that they don't really need lubricating as much as disc brakes, etc do. The pistons do go 'sticky' from time to time, but as said, a good service every now and then does them a world of good! Water is favoured amongst trials riders as; it's free, it has a much more responsive feel at the lever, it's free, it's not as messy to bleed with, it's free, it doesn't contaminate your rims/pads. Did I mention it's free? Just chill out, and get the facts straight before you go waving your arms in the air going mental!
  14. Giving it enough time to bed in? Give it a fresh bleed, make sure there's NO air in it at all. Set it up so the pads are dead square, and then let it bed in! It wont be amazing at first, but keep dragging the brake, chuck water on it, drag it, repeat. They'll get better! If you keep re-adjusting it, the pads wont be able to wear into the set up, so you'll be going in circles.
  15. So it was you that had the last Fans disc frame from Tarty! I had my eye on that. I like it! Needs some colour though. Very high front end too... Bet it feels really short with that set up on it?
  16. Maybe the bolt is bottoming out in the axle? Unless the axle is hollow all the way through. - Say this because you don't have a mech hanger, so that side of the dropout is thinner, which means the bolt goes further into the axle.
  17. Tensile 60click if you can afford it. I love mine! Hasn't let me down once.
  18. Hairspray is the best for foam grips! Just spray a little on, slide the grip on the bars, wait for it to dry, and you're done!
  19. Would've been best cut at an angle, but it'll be fine. My old forks were like that, and they clamped alright though. Did snap, but that was because they were really old Echo forks. Nothing to do with the stem clamp at all!

    Nice Gif

It'll be nice to have more little topics about in Chit-Chat, instead of it all being divided up into 'The Threads.' On topic: Seen that gif a while back! love it.
  21. Turn some pallets upside down. Did that at a DJ memorial ride in Abingdon a while back, everyone loved it! haha.
  22. (They skip!) As said here: http://www.trials-fo...097-freewheels/ Seriously, it's the next post down... Have a look about before posting topics.
