I did think about that. Obviously the drawing's not acurate...at all. The can bit is in this shape really: _/\_ so the edges are pushed against the gap it's in, so it can't squish down. It's not putting enough force on the pawl so it doesn't spring back easily. It still moves freely. Trying to find some roller beaings in the driver bearing size (as they'll be way stronger), do they even exist in this size?: Bore 15mm Outer Diameter 24mm Width 5mm Tried SKF, and a million and two websites off Google, but no luck so far...

Only leaf springs I can find are for cars/vans. Can't see any that look remotely like these hub springs... I don't actually need any now, but I might soon. Would save us all money anyway!

LEAF SPRING! that's the one! haha. Me and my mate came up with an awesome bodge to make them louder.. Basically, cut up some thin strips of coke can and make a /\ shape, and wedge it between the spring and driver shell. Like this: Black - Driver shell. Red - Spring. Blue - Pawl. Green - Can.

I'll go for V8s too. Just keep an eye on the pins! They fall out easily...

Not got a problem or anything, just curious. My friend's after a spring for his cassette hub (not a Profile, but has very similar internals) we both agree that £5 for a tiny piece of metal is a joke. Anyone know where you could buy them from say, a manufacturer? Surely they'll be about £1 for loads? Guessing they're 'flat springs' but can't find any that match Profile ones off Google... Help, anyone?

King's are horrible. The noise is just annoying, they do proper full-rotation skips. The drive mechanism is different to the usual Spring/Pawl design on Profiles/ProIIs etc. It's hard to explain what it's like, but it's different. They're really expensive because they're machined so well, just a shame they super-skip!

Hub driver bearings decided to break after 5mins of riding...So I was just doing small techy stuff all day. Didn't trust my hub for shit!

My cage pedals were never really that good... They didn't have as much grip as I thought they would, my feet slipped about a bit in any shoes. Then the bolts would work themselves loose, then just fall out, and the threads would strip. The cages would fall off or snap, and the bearings were shitty. Had DMR V8s and they're great. Apart from the pins falling out, but they're replaceable. Got some Gusset Slim Jims now, and they're alright...

Going riding tomorrow, first for a while... Only in the local town, but still. I feel that i've done everything there (well, in my level of riding)... Is there anything left for me to do? Bunnyhop gaps I can do, kinda..not that big. I wanna escape from the TGS side of riding really, but I have no idea what to learn..haha. Ideas anyone?
