  1. That does look awesome! Nice job!
  2. I completely understand how you feel. However, if she just gets a licence and a car and doesn't care for motoring you will shit yourself everytime she drives.
  3. Bizarre how intermittent your power was. Any better?
  4. Lol, how fast you want mate?
  5. A Vage? Tits? Something better to do?
  6. I miss the track already. need to do something sooner than August.
  7. I seem to remember both Nick and Alan both saying and agreeing that the FWD setup of the A3 was better than the 4WD of the S3. Otherwise they would have started the build from an S3. Nick's car is hardly a standard car though, so maybe you are commenting in reference to Std spec to Std spec. If I remember correctly Jardo, not many of us intend to keep our car specs Std for long. I intentionally bought my LCR over the S3, golfs, A3's, the Hatch Scoobie and the various evos, 350 and 370z's and eventually the quattro TT's. The 350 and 370z's I couldn't get a bike in because of the bullshit strut brace built in. The Evo's would still probably be better, but hard to live with and mega on insurance. Scoobie just doesn't look right and the handling benefits of the 4WD system don't seem to outweigh the cons of poorer fuel economy. The S3 only sends power to the rear wheels when it is needed so for me the extra weight of having it doesn't see a benefit. which only really left the Leons, Golf's and A3's that could hold a bike, be practical, okay on fuel and insurance and handle the power well. Out of those, the LCR is the best equipped and IMO the best looking from Std. I did look into the TT's as well, but could never decide if I wanted to try to squeeze a bike in and out of it every week. There is no denying that the S3 can probably pull off the line faster at the same BHP and torque as the LCR's, and has potential to corner better, but in reality that isn't going to happen. Good tyres, good suspension set up, good weight distribution, torsional rigidity, big brakes, power and eventually aero is what everyone will need to make faster cars. I am also pretty certain the LCR's have a better aero profile than the S3's and I intend to prove it one day. So we shall see in the long run Jardo. EDIT: That said, you can't go too mad with power on FWD due to inevitable torque steer, but up until that 350-400 BHP point it should be good.
  8. The Hope ones for trials 48 or 80 EP will only accommodate 6 gears. However, they do also make non trials specific ones 24 and 40 EP so maybe go for the 40T and then you really could have a hub for life. Make sure you get the bolted version though. QR is gash. I have been running the old hopes (48EP) for years now and they are very good. killed an axle and a bearing. I think I got my first on in 07/8 snapped the axle last year, could have fixed it but wanted the newer version as it had needle bearings. I have hope hubs front and rear on all 3 of my bikes. Love them. That said, I am looking to go FFW on the hoppy bike soon so may get rid of one of them
  9. Nope, McCoys were distracting me from the looming danger about to ensue.
  10. Some pics, I really didn't have the phone out much. Either way, all the Vags together.
  11. I would be in for another bash where ever. Would be nice to have a track day somewhere else, just for change of scenery and driving style required, although a 6 month gap should be fine and time improvements would be nice to see. However, Curborough makes perfect sense as it is middle of the country, cheap and big crashes are minimal risk I am easy with dates, provided it is sunny.
  12. So, coil pack packed in this morning. oops.
  13. Well that was awesome. Just gotten back and packed everything away. Shame about the puncture, but fortunately I have a spare tyre so will get the boys to sort that for me. Can't believe how hard it was to beat my first lap time. Really don't know what was up with that. I think the car would have been quicker with my grey Road wheels with the extra tread and the car not leaning backwards. Never been though liftoff oversteer in the dry so that was a steep learning curve. 2 engine fault codes from a day of smashing it. Not too bad. Was really good to see everyone again and get to meet some new people too. Been needing a good day out for a while and this hit the spot. Thank you Adam for the organisation, tools, timing and tuition. I've got some photos and will upload tomorrow. Did anyone get any of my car on track? Hopefully with the full red wheel setup. Cheers Ash
  14. Oi and Oi! You loved it. and I came to help you another day, shame my suspension "fell" to pieces so we had to fix that in the rain eh?
  15. Luke what is that pipe? and what was the gunk? Like the job on the S2K
  16. Excuses already be interested to see how much an uprated front ARB makes a difference
  17. Nice one Luke. I'm excited to see your car, I also have a hilarious coloured S2K filter. they seem to come in a random array of colours. Jardo, that Mk2 looks bad ass. love it. Sticker for near the tow bar... "Low & Tow" or arrows in several directions with Low (Down) Tow (Towbar) and Blow (Exhaust)?
  18. Holy shit, just seen where this track is on a map. For some reason I was convinced it was near Salisbury!. Rainbird, Jardo Convoy? Leon, Leon, Golf? Golf, Leon, Leon? Leon, Golf Leon? Anyone else want in on this action from the south?
  19. A bodge of one of these then? I like it!
  20. Good news Luke! I'm not excited for mine, but got until August I think for that.
  21. Could always get a 16tooth cog
