(Y) Well i do know what you're going through anyway mate. It's tougher mentally than physically i think. Just think to the future and get yourself excited! The acl is coming up so get yourself sorted at home, with a fridge next to the couch etc etc! It's all in the planning! dvd's borrowed, all ready to watch, PS2 setup etc. You'll be good mate. Cheers for the answer.

He is lucky, and you're sounding a bit thick, if you don't know the answer to the question you posed...

That's almost south african for whack a peedo!

Yeah, he does look gay, but the person sucking his dick is wearing a mtb helmet!! The guy bumming a porn star chick is wearing a bmx lid Wear what you like yeah, but do wear something. I choose my bmx one because i've banged my head sooo many times with it and it's still going strong. For the money side of things, i wouldn't want to buy another after each fall, as i'd be on 4 or 5 a year! Aside from that, i like the look of them better, as i am now a bmxer! Plus, they never move around even the slightest bit and they are a lot more head shaped than an mtb one. Ive baged the back of my head with a big angular MET mtb lid and becasue of it's speed boat shape, it's had a load of leverage from the back and shifted it right down my face raping my nose and not protecting the back of my head anymore. Each to their own, but after head bangs with both, i'll not use an mtb one again. Wear something though, you never know when you'll fall, otherwise you'd never fall in the first place. If you think you're too quick to bang y our head, then realise that you're not quick enough, and sooner or later you'll crash and not get your hands out to stop your head or face hitting. I've been knocked out with a helmet plenty of times. I ddread to think what would have happened if i wasn't wearing one. Wear a lid you divi's! bongo

Why should it be made a stickty?!?!? Surely everyone knows they SHOULD wear a helmet anyway! It's just stupid people who've not been lucky enough to bang their heads and realise how important helmets are. MTB lids look gay. Get a bmx/skate lid. They fit better, look better and protect better for all but the biggest crashes.

Wow, what great advice Fat, make sure you do wear a suit. First impressions are everything. The first 5 seconds of a job interview are vital. How you present yourself is a huge factor. Doesn't matter what job. They want to see you make an effort and they hold interviews to let you demonstrate this. Bongo

you're asking on here instead of looking at Websites designed to teach students about different A level courses so they can accurately choose the correct course?? you're better off doing some proper research mate. I probably wouldn't base my choice of A level on the fact that you want to use metaphors!

Darren, you keep posting in this thread, but seem to never answer my question i asked you earlier up this thread....

i doubt his post was even directed at you... read some of the others and take a guess which it was aimed at...

A chain, quite obviously CANNOT change the gear ratio. So something else is producing extra resistance. It could be that the chain was tretched due to age/use, and the new chain, when fitted is actually tighter. Move your wheel in to get the same tension as before, if you haven't already. (If needed) The best chain to use, in my experience (of never having managed to snap one) is a KMC 510HX chain available from HERE (alansbmx) The KOOL chains by KMC have a lower strength rating than these, are heavier than these, and also have larger protrusions along the edges of the outer plates, which lever the outer plates off the pins easier and cause the plates to bend. This has been noticed in bmx on grinds etc. But for trials, with all the chain on wall action, i'm sure it's an eqally consistent occurence. Maybe you just haven't had your weetabix lately... bongo

I agree with your whole post, but this part, i may or may not agree with! Yes, i agree with the consequences. f**ked foot = no job & riding = BUT, if he just did the gap becasue he thought he could do it and made a simple mistake, fair enough, accidents happen. It can be annoying, but you expect it from such a sport. If it was on the edge of his capabilities and on that attempt it didn't work out, but he went for it becasue he really felt like trying it and was 'on it' that day, then how can he regret it?? It was for nothing, except the amazing feeling if he landed it. I doubt the few seconds before the gap, he was thinking about sponsorship. If he was, i think it's a massive shame, and hope the injury changes his perspective on riding. I've never regretted a crash, becasue i've only ever had crashes after weighing up the odds and deciding to try it because i reallyw anted to get the feelintg you get when you know you just avoided a massive wreck. Sometimes, you don't avoid them though and end up in hospital, but how can you regret following through something you wanted to do?? I'd rather end up in hospital knowing i tried it, than end up in bed that night annoyed for fagging out. However, i would never ever even willy my finger, to please a company that in reality, don't give a shit about me and are using me as a billboard to advertise their products, and wouldn't hesitate to stop helping me, should they run out of money to send me things. The fact that you MAY be injuring yourself, and riding every day, to get these companies to send you things, is a sad thing to find out in my opinion. I don't understand the mentality of people with these views, and don't agree with them. I do understand money problems, but think that it's the wrong way to go about it. If you had a job, then you could solve your money problems for your bike and also for the rest of your time when you're not riding, so you could go out, buy clothes, maybe save to buiy a car when you're old enough, insurance, lessons etc etc. It's shit doing it, but thinking ahead is the right thing to do, and you're the right age to do it. I've worked since i was 15, and ridden since 17. I worked to work, then when i began riding, i worked to ride. I rode to ride, and never for any other reason. Keep it that way and you'll never be unhappy, you'll never feel pressured and you'lle never regret a crash. You can shape your riding to apeal to other riders and companies more i suppose, but i would say you should never let it be an active thought in your head while out on a ride. Most people who are sponsored have had it happen almost b accident. Sponsorship is a very nice side effect of loving to ride. Not a natural result of riding. I hope you get better, enjoy riding more than ever, and get some money! I bet you never expected in depth, deep posts, when you said you bust your foot! Sorry if some things you never wanted to hear, nothing i've said, has been intended to have a go at you or anything, but i've been in the same position as far as injuries go, and money! Bongo

There is no one thing a sponsor looks for... I know riders whoa ren't particularly good, but their attitude is so appealing to other riders and people looking at bmx, that they present a brilliant image for the particular companies that support them, and they advertise the companies well, by attending events and bringing their attitude with them. The riding is obviously pretty good, but they are more known for the personalities. And nobody would ever deem them not worth of the sponsorhip. Then i know people who couldn't string a sentence together, but can ride the clappers, and other sponsors support them too. Different companies look for different things. Think of it as a business venture. There are 30 toaster companies that toast 4 pieces at once. If you want to be succesful, would you make another that was the same?? Becasue in effect, that's what you're trying to do. Take a step back and, if you're actively seeking sponsorship, look at what ISN'T about in trials. It seems everyone goes big at the moment. There is a great lack of making it look good lately. If you get a 20 foot gap, nobody seems to give a toss how it's done. If i was to try to get some sponsors in trials, i'd take the route of street/bmx style. (although i'm not really into it, hence me stopping trials and riding bmx lol, but this is where trials is inevitably going, afterall, there is only so far you can gap, drop and up, so to stop trials reaching a limit, you have to eventually involve bmx style tricks and lines amongst the staple trials 'moves') Anyway, if i couldn't afford my bike, i wouldn't start f**king myself up to get a sponsor, i'd get a job... Never f**k yourself up under pressure, as your injury time is spent annoyed. f**k yourself up becasue you really wanted to try the trick, for no reason other than you wanted to, then you can never ever regret the consequences. So from what you've said, you've clearly, amongst other things, had an ACL reconstruction, as the ACL holds 90% of the knee's stability. What kind of reconstruction have you had?? What donar was used for it, and what's your rehab plan??? I hate to sound off, but i don't believe what you're saying, as i'm going through it, and after a year of research before it, i know an awful lot about it, and i know that what you are claiming, doesn't lne up with anything int he UK or US post op rehab programs. In fact, you're about 6 months out of sync...

You know exactly what ian means you pedantic gimp.

This is the problem with going to 6th form in a school, or leaving school and going to a 6th form college. You're still a kid at school, rather than a student at college. The teachers see it that way anyway...
