My gran, always used to tell me about going upstairs oneday to see a a lady cleaning the fireplace. ( this was 1920 ish) She wasnt bothered by this one bit , but walked downstairs and asked her mum "who's the lady cleaning our fire?" My Great Gran basicaly said "dont be silly , you know we couldnt afford to pay a cleaner". And that was that. My gran never saw the old lady cleaning the fire again. Although their next door neigbours at the time used to have trouble with a red haired ghost, so much so, that the daughter used to see it and jump the fence inbetween gardens beacuse she was so freaked out by it. It was disovered some years later that the two old lady ghosts had been great freinds for a long time and had died on the same day....................
