  4. I never had a single problem with the Beta after running it for a good 6 months. The release version (version 14) is fine too, no problems. On my other computer it failed to update the Beta to the release version then decided it didn't want to. Uninstalling the Beta completely and then trying from scratch with the release version proved to be fine though. Try that.
  5. I've been wanting to try slacklining for some time now actually... Any tips on getting started?
  6. The Prodigy - Out of Space I remember first listening to this when I was in primary school! Year 6 to be exact.
  7. Creative Zen and Creative Zen Mozaic are awesome players. Long battery lives, easy to use, great functions, very clear screens. And best of all the Zen is getting cheaper by the day.
  8. Err, did you actually click that link I gave? £139 inc. VAT for Photoshop CS3 Extended Student Edition.
  9. Easiest way is to go to KEEPVID.com, paste the video page URL and it gives you links to download either the FLV or the higher quality MPG. There's a lightweight free app called FLVExtract that can easily save the audio from the saved file as an mp3. You just drag the file onto the window and it saves an mp3 in the same folder automatically.
  10. Photoshop is all about context. That's all I'm gonna say.
  11. And now it's time for some Brookes Brothers - Zero
  12. Best way to get a fox head logo on your wall as cheaply and easily as possible is to use an awesome (and 3,000 year old) technique known to us modern mere mortals as the camera obscura. Print off a small version of the fox logo and cut it out so that it's in its component form as a small stencil, to make things easy it would be useful if you could glue it onto a small sheet of polythene such as an OHP projector acetate sheet, you can get these pretty cheap. Then, use binbags or thick, dark cloth to black out the windows and door in your room. And yes, I mean completely, so it's pitch PITCH black in there. Also get a cardboard box, a lightsource that can fit inside the box, some duct tape and a drawing pin. Affix the lightsource in the box close to one side so that it shines on the opposite side of the box, in the opposite side of the box put a pinhole in it thats in line with the lightsource. Then tape the acetate sheet with the fox logo UPSIDE DOWN in place inside the box inline with the lightsouce and the hole, if you do this right then you *should* get an obscura image of the fox logo being projected out of the hole and onto whatever surface it faces. This may be very faint, so I suggest using a very strong light source. Place the box and it's contents in a suitable position that projects the logo where you want and VOILA, you have a handy guide projected onto the wall to paint over, or at least put a pencil line in place so you can paint it once the lights are back on. If you don't understand what I'm saying, then research camera obscuras, about 5mins and you'll get the idea. To understand how well it CAN work then have a look at the works of Abelardo Morell.
  13. Aww, here goes! </kenan&kel> On her bike, in Portsmouth. Pretty much sums her up Excuse the underexposure.
  14. I've been listening to all sorts today, in some crazy mixed up order. Right now I'm listening to: Celldweller - Fadeaway
  15. Shit no... f**king hell. I actually can't believe it He was a totally sound guy and awesome to ride with, I really dunno what to say... Not seen him for a few months, but he was one of those people that you even if you'd not seen for ages you'd just meet up on a ride and have a ball. He'll be f**king missed to say the very least. Hobbsie through the years: Ride In Peace buddy x
  16. Yeah they are. And no need to go hurrying into changing components straight away. Just change stuff as and when it wears out or you find bits limiting you, all the stuff is good the only qualms are based around durability... Which is always the key issue at this low price regardless of what bike you go for. As for performance it's great.
  17. Haha cheers guys! And yes Charl, I can finally join the army, have sex and play the lottery. In that order?
  18. For the money, they're great. My girlfriend has one which I ride fairly regularly, it's gotta be said the geometry makes it really chuckable but very comfy at the same time so is great for a beginner. Nice short rear end so it's easy to manual and jump, as well as being easy to whip out sideways when you want to. Wheels... No probs so far and I've given them a proper beating, I'm quite surprised as I thought they'd be the first things to go. The Kenda K-Rad tyres are awesome, great on street and dirt. The Quad Brakes are f*cking great once you've set them up, and a lot easier to set up than the last set of mechanical discs I had a few years ago. The crankset is still smooth and solid after a year, I thought it'd last a year at most... Again I'm happily surprised. The Suntour forks are the worst bit, they were fine at first but after a few months kept topping out and only going through about half their travel before seizing and rebounding. Mind you, I've seen Marzocchi Dirt Jam forks do this straight out of the box, so no surprises there. They're easily replaced anyway and a set of nice white Dirt Jumps will go nicely with the aesthetic on top of keeping the geometry sweet. Only other bad bit I can think of is the seat. Not very comfy and difficult to pinch. But overall it's great out of the box, the components will last you at least a year or two while you're slowly upgrading and it rides rather nicely indeed. Good to start with and good as a platform to upgrade with, for the money I'd say you could do a crap-load worse.
  19. I think it would do humanity some good to come into contact with (advanced) alien life. Would make us all think for a sec, and hopefully bring us that little closer.
